Introduction
As the Data Governance & Catalog Lead, you will report to the Senior Director of Digital and play a pivotal role in shaping how enterprise data is cataloged, governed, and leveraged across an industrial/manufacturing environment.
You will establish stewardship frameworks and governance policies in four critical areas:
Data catalog and lineage
Data quality measures and continuous improvement roadmap
Domain-specific data councils and retention policy
Business process alignment with IT, business users, data councils, and digital teams
You will also represent the function in the company-wide Global Data Council, ensuring alignment with enterprise data strategy.
Your Responsibilities
- Identify functional data champions, form domain-specific data councils, and develop an inventory of Critical Data Elements (CDEs) .
- Develop and maintain a data catalog and lineage framework tailored to high-volume industrial/manufacturing data environments.
- Define and monitor data quality KPIs and thresholds , establishing escalation and remediation processes.
- Translate enterprise-wide data retention/custody policies into domain-specific rules, balancing compliance with value capture from AI/ML/Gen-AI use cases.
- Guide data scientists and use case teams in identifying data requirements, sources, and ensuring data quality, integrity, and security.
- Draft initial data architectures and governance solutions to enable scalable use case deployment.
- Partner with IT, engineering, and cross-functional stakeholders to optimize data architecture, infrastructure, and platforms for industrial data management.
- Lead, coach, and mentor the data stewardship and governance team, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Stay updated on emerging trends in data governance, cataloging, and industrial digitalization , evaluating their business value for future use cases.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related engineering field.
- Minimum of 6 years' experience in data management, governance, or analytics, within manufacturing, industrial, or engineering environments .
- Proven track record of leading teams and driving data management initiatives in operational/engineering contexts.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, cataloging, lineage, and data quality management .
- Experience with data analytics platforms and tools.
- Knowledge of data security standards and regulatory requirements relevant to industrial/engineering data.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Project Management certification or equivalent.
