Overview
We are looking for a Data Scientist to join a product team focused on advancing a cutting-edge Synthetic Data Generation (SDG) engine.
This role sits at the intersection of machine learning, applied research, and software engineering, contributing to a product that enables safe data sharing and analytics across sectors.
Responsibilities
- Designing and experimenting with SDG models (e.g., DDPM, ARF, Gaussian Copula).
- Diagnosing model failures and improving performance through tuning and architecture refinement.
- Collaborating with software engineers to build ML-powered product features (e.g., imputation, constraints handling).
- Supporting users by troubleshooting training issues and providing actionable fixes.
- Writing clear, user-friendly documentation to explain technical concepts and model behavior.
- Working closely with the engineering team to integrate ML models into production systems.
- Participating in Agile rituals, code reviews, and design discussions.
- Translating research into practical prototypes and contributing to technical strategy.
What Are We Looking For?
We’re seeking a curious and collaborative Data Scientist with:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Analytics, or related field.
- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in machine learning and data science.
- Strong Python programming skills and familiarity with ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
- Ability to analyze model behavior, debug training issues, and design experiments.
- Experience in backend development (e.g., FastAPI, Flask) and cloud environments (AWS preferred).
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and collaborative coding practices.
- Ability to read and apply emerging research to real-world problems.
- Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to learn new domains, especially in data privacy.
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with privacy-enhancing technologies, synthetic data, or differential privacy.
- Familiarity with frontend frameworks (e.g., Next.js/React).
- Prior experience in multi-disciplinary product teams.
