About the Role
We are seeking exceptional Data Scientists with a rare blend of technical expertise and strong communication skills to join our Singapore based team.
You will play a leadership role in our data science initiatives—shaping strategy, delivering high-impact solutions, and influencing decision‑making across major clients.
You’ll be part of a fast‑growing, highly regarded Data Science team within UST , working in cross‑functional agile teams.
As a client‑facing expert , you’ll drive the full lifecycle of data projects from business problem framing and data acquisition to advanced modelling and deployment.
Key Responsibilities
- Client Leadership: Act as a trusted advisor for high‑profile clients.
Understand business goals and recommend tailored, data‑driven solutions.
- Advanced Analytics Delivery: Lead the design and execution of ML models, statistical analyses, and optimisation algorithms on large, complex datasets.
- Business Storytelling: Translate complex analytical outcomes into clear, impactful presentations and dashboards for executive and non‑technical audiences.
- End‑to‑End Solutioning: Architect and deliver production‑grade data science pipelines, from data ingestion to model deployment in cloud or hybrid environments.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with ML engineers, developers, and analysts in agile teams.
Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to upskilling initiatives.
- Innovation & Thought Leadership: Drive continuous innovation through reusable components, best practices, and contributions to research, publications, or conferences.
Must‑Have Skills & Experience
- MSc/PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent real‑world experience.
- 4+ years in a Data Scientist or similar role, preferably in consulting or client‑facing environments.
- Expert‑level proficiency in Python (including libraries such as pandas, scikit‑learn, NumPy, etc.).
- Strong understanding of Machine Learning, Statistical Modelling, and Data Visualization (e.g., using matplotlib, seaborn, Plotly, Power BI, or similar).
- Proven ability to communicate insights effectively to C‑suite and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Hands‑on experience deploying models in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Solid foundation in SQL, data wrangling, and working with large, disparate datasets.
- Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities within data science teams.
Preferred / Nice‑to‑Have Skills
- Experience building recommendation engines, optimisation models, or real‑time analytics solutions.
- Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified ML Specialty, Azure Data Scientist Associate, or GCP Professional Data Engineer).
- Contributions to open‑source projects, published research, or speaking engagements at industry conferences.
