DBA Expert - Sybase/PostgreSQL role at Crédit Agricole CIB
Responsibilities
- Sybase & PostgreSQL Expert is a technical expert role within the Database team and will be responsible for managing, administration and supporting the Sybase & PostgreSQL Database technologies for the bank.
- Act as the technical point of contact for the Run team.
- Serve as a technical L3 resource for Sybase & PostgreSQL database services in CA-CIB, providing support for all production activities within the Database team in Singapore.
- Be accountable for the overall health and stability of the technical solutions within scope.
- Collaborate with technical peers such as architects, peer experts and project teams on technology roadmaps and projects.
- Work with L3/Service Manager to define the scope of technical activities, develop best practices and gain knowledge across all aspects of support.
Scope Of Duties
Job Responsibilities
- As The Expert Of The Team, act as the last level of escalation for team members.
- Own incident, problem and change management processes for the team.
- Assign technical tasks and manage delegation.
- Encourage collaboration and sharing of practices within the team.
- Participate in recruitment processes for the team.
As The Expert Of His/Her Scope Of Activity
- Actively involved in incident management, fault investigation, resolution escalations of monitoring alerts and user-initiated problem calls/tickets, and request management.
- Final technical approver for changes in Sybase and PostgreSQL technology; accountable for technical changes from RUN/BAU perspective.
- Involved in projects like End of Life, New Builds, migrations and technical upgrades of the solution managed by the team.
- Participates in global Infra events (e.g., Power down and DR Tests).
- Ensures compliance with norms, standards, processes and procedures; ensures documentation is up to date.
- Leads continuous improvement initiatives; drives and delivers root cause analysis for high-severity issues.
- Focus on automation and optimal use of the team to improve efficiency; maintain knowledge to remain fully qualified for the role.
Legal And Regulatory Responsibilities
- Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal compliance requirements, including Singapore compliance policies and procedures; financial security requirements, including prevention of financial crime and fraud with reporting obligations as needed.
- Maintain knowledge to remain fully qualified; complete mandatory training as required.
Job Specific Environment
- Fluent in English.
- Work schedule supports Asia and EMEA (Paris) time zones; may require non-office hours for critical incidents or escalation per on-call requirements; rotational shift schedule is followed.
- Work Hours: 2 PM – 11 PM SGT (with one week of General shift 9 AM – 6 PM SGT).
