Deputy Manager (Outreach, Events and Marketing) - Contract

SUTD Architecture and Sustainable Design (ASD) Pillar is seeking an experienced and proactive Deputy Manager (Outreach, Events and Marketing) to lead initiatives that drive visibility, engagement, and recruitment for our degree programme.

This role blends outreach strategy, events management, marketing communications, and stakeholder engagement, making it ideal for candidates who thrive at the intersection of strategy and execution.



Key Responsibilities

1.

Outreach and Marketing Strategy Development

  • Develop and implement outreach and marketing strategies to promote the degree programme to prospective students, parents, and external stakeholders.

  • Create and manage promotional materials such as brochures, flyers, newsletters, social media content, and website updates.

  • Collaborate with the university's Marketing & Communications team to ensure alignment with overall branding and outreach efforts.

2.

Events Planning, Marketing, and Execution

  • Plan, organize, and execute events such as open houses, information sessions, workshops, career fairs, and recruitment drives.

  • Manage event logistics including venue booking, catering, AV setup, promotion, registration, and RSVP management.

  • Develop event programmes and materials, liaise with speakers and facilitators, and manage event budgets and timelines.

  • Market events through digital and traditional channels to maximize attendance and engagement.

  • Oversee all aspects of event execution, including on-site coordination, set-up and tear-down, attendee engagement, and troubleshooting.

  • Conduct post-event evaluations, gather feedback, and report on outcomes with recommendations for improvement.

3.

Student Recruitment and Engagement

  • Engage with prospective students through school visits, education fairs, etc
  • Provide clear information on programme offerings, admissions, scholarships, and career prospects.

  • Conduct presentations, Q&A sessions, and one-on-one consultations with students and parents.

4.

Relationship Building with External Stakeholders

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, educational agencies, industry partners, and alumni.

  • Establish partnerships with organizations to facilitate outreach and enhance visibility.

  • Collaborate with alumni for events, mentoring, and outreach activities.

5.

Data Collection and Analysis

  • Collect and analyze data on outreach activities, event attendance, student inquiries, and recruitment outcomes.

  • Monitor effectiveness of strategies, refine approaches, and prepare reports with recommendations.

6.

Content Creation and Programme Branding

  • Develop compelling content for marketing materials, social media, email campaigns, and websites.

  • Manage and update the programme's digital presence across websites and social media platforms.

  • Generate testimonials, success stories, and promotional content in collaboration with faculty, students, and alumni.

  • Ensure consistent messaging and visual identity across all outreach and event materials.

  • Highlight programme USPs, faculty achievements, and student success stories, aligning all activities with the university's strategic brand goals.

7.

Collaboration with Internal Stakeholders

  • Work closely with faculty, admissions, student services, and administrative teams to ensure cohesive outreach and events.

  • Align event content with programme goals and provide feedback from outreach activities for programme improvement.

8.

Budget Management and Resource Allocation

  • Manage outreach and event budgets to ensure cost-effective use of resources.

  • Prepare cost estimates, track expenses, and report on financial performance.

  • Negotiate with vendors and manage contracts and payments.



Requirements

  • Degree in Marketing, Communications, Events Management, or related field.

  • At least 3 - 5 years' experience, preferably in the education industry.

  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage people across all levels.

  • Able to manage multiple and competing tasks and deadlines effectively.

  • Meticulous, detail-oriented, and highly organized.

  • Excellent team player with a collaborative spirit; able to support and work with others.

  • Good leadership skills with the ability to guide and align with departmental goals.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools; social media, digital marketing tools, and event management platforms an advantage.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

  • Embodies SUTD core behavioral competencies and values.
