Overview
We are looking for an experienced
Design Engineer
to conceptualise and design carbide press tools for high-precision metal stamped, deep-draw, and forming parts.
The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in tool design and manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
Conceptualise and design carbide press tools for high-precision metal stamped, deep-draw, and forming parts.
Study part drawings and prepare layouts based on product requirements independently.
Complete detailed tool designs in accordance with specifications and production needs.
Ensure a smooth transition from product design and development to production.
Troubleshoot and resolve technical design issues promptly, recommending improvements for new and existing tools.
Coordinate with toolmakers during assembly and testing stages to ensure accuracy and functionality.
Provide guidance to draughtspersons on modifications and simple tooling designs.
Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.
Requirements
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Tool & Die Engineering.
Certification in relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, V6, SolidWorks, or other CAD programs).
Relevant years of experience in Tool & Die Design.
Strong practical knowledge of tool design and manufacturing technologies, including high-speed progressive tool design, forming or multi-slide design, machining, assembly, troubleshooting, and dimensional inspection.
Proficient in design software such as AutoCAD, V6, and SolidWorks.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
