The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of supply chain professionals that will manage the NTT GDC APAC Data Center construction supply chain.
This will include the strategic supply chain planning, sourcing, qualifications, tendering, contract negotiations, and supplier performance management.
This work will enable the successful delivery of construction projects across the region and help meet company objectives.
The Director will also collaborate to develop internal processes and procedures that can be used to drive consistent supply chain programs across all GDC regions.
This role will primarily focus on major construction projects across the APAC region.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage the team of supply chain professionals to ensure a consistent method of managing construction projects and achieve the company’s objectivesDevelop and implement supply chain strategies that will enable the successful delivery for all construction projects (This may include supplier capacity planning, sourcing, contracting etc.)Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define scope of services requirements and specificationsCollaborate with cross regional supply chain leaders to share BKMs and develop consistent processes for operational efficiencyProduce Executive level/ Management level reports around the health of the supply chain programEnsure there is a robust program in place to source and qualify suppliers for all scopes necessary to deliver the projects.
Ensure there is a comprehensive bid process in place that provides for a fair and equitable method for any bidderDevelop and implement a supplier relationship management program in conjunction with cross regional supply chain leaders to effectively manage global supplier relationshipsCoordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment on project timelines, budgetary constraints, and quality standardsOversee the development and execution of procurement plans, tracking key milestones and deliverables to ensure on-time contract awards and within-budget to enable project constructionImplement best practices and process improvements to optimize supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, and mitigate risksMonitor industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive advantageProvide leadership, guidance, and mentorship to supply chain team members and the greater construction organizationKNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES
Must demonstrate a working knowledge in best practice procurement processes, negotiating purchase order terms, conditions, and pricing, cost reductions, supplier qualification processes, vendor selection and account development, logistics, and sourcingMust have overall expertise in Data Center constructionSuperior communication and analytical skills to drive strategic sourcing plans across the portfolio of projectsProven history of year-over-year (YOY) cost and/or time to market (TTM) reductions through continual improvement or innovationACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration or relevant field (Master Degree preferred)REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
Minimun of five years direct experience in procurement and supply chain management required, specifically in a management position, and in mission critical/Data Center is preferredPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Regularly moves equipment and other hardware up to 20 lbs.Frequently move about inside and outside of data center / facilityRemain stationary for long periods of time.Ascend / Descend a ladder and perform duties atop a raised platform.Position self in small spaces.Operate computer, peripherals, and other office equipment.Perform work during US business hours and time zones.WORK CONDITIONS & OTHER REQUIREMENTS
