What is the opportunity?As the Director, Rates Trader Fixed Income, you will be responsible for providing liquidity in rates to Asian clients and manage risk.What will you do?
  • Make markets and manage resultant risk in Rates products during Asian hours in their respective global books, maximizing monetization of client flows and P&L for FRT trading books.
  • Liaise closely with London, NY, and Toronto based Rates traders on all matters from flows, risk, pricing, liquidity, axes, issues etc.
  • Develop Rates franchise and client relationships in Asia Pacific through working with sales staff, client interaction, marketing trips and trade idea generation.
  • Managing and mentoring junior traders, helping them to grow with our franchise.
  • Establish good relationships with counterparties and keep management abreast of any significant market trends and developments.
  • Maximize and optimize internally generated flow.
  • Contribute to Europe and North American Rates books annual budget revenue targets.

  • Proactively identify operational risks/control deficiencies in the business
  • Review and comply with Firm Policies applicable to your business activities
  • Escalate operational risk loss events, control deficiencies and risks that you identify to your line manager and the relevant risk and control functions on a timely basis.
  • Identify, assist and manage operational risks/control deficiencies in the business.
  • Work to prevent, to detect, and to eliminate the potential for risk and liability to the Firm.
  • What do you need to succeed?Must-have
  • Degree or equivalent is required.
  • The role would typically require 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Trader with 2 years or more of relevant experience and a strong background in pricing and risk managing G10 interest rates products.
  • Ambition and drive are essential to grow the business, and communication at all levels is a key requirement.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Accountable for locally managing global overnight Rates risk and P&L.
  • Team player, self-motivated and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Singapore Regulatory papers.
  • US and Canadian Licenses.
