EdTech Development Specialist
The EdTech Development Specialist will help shape how technology – especially generative AI – transforms teaching and learning at NUS and beyond.
The role blends educational insight, human-centred innovation, and strategic problem-solving to develop new approaches to learning in the age of AI.
Job Description
- Collaborate with faculty across disciplines to diagnose teaching and learning challenges, then develop and test technology or AI-enhanced solutions to address specific pedagogical needs.
- Investigate how learners engage with technology and generative AI such as LLMs, and develop targeted tools and learning interventions to improve the quality and effectiveness of their use.
- Work with the AICET ScholAIstic ( team and other in-house product teams to manage products and support development of the next generation of AI-powered educational tools.
- Engineer sophisticated AI prompts and workflows for complex, multi-step learning, feedback and assessment tools.
- Pilot experimental learning activities/assessments with students, collect feedback and data, and evaluate their pedagogical impact.
- Collaborate with diverse stakeholders across AICET, NUS and external partner institutions to align pedagogical objectives, technical design and project delivery.
- Develop training resources and conduct sharing sessions to build capacity within NUS and the wider education community for the effective use of AI in teaching, learning and research.
- Lead research projects on the NUS community's needs and practices, synthesise findings and generate insights that guide AICET's future initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Learning Sciences, Cognitive Science (with a focus on learning/development) or a related discipline; OR a Bachelor's degree in any discipline with relevant pedagogical experience
- A Master's degree in a relevant field will be an advantage.
- Candidates should have substantial demonstrable experience in at least two of: teaching, educational research, educational product development, or learning design.
- Experience with learning analytics or user data analysis will be an advantage.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and logically
- Strong interpersonal, project management, and organisational skills, and the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams
- Intellectual curiosity and openness to learning across diverse disciplinary and technical domains
