Job description

Life Skills Educator


In this esteemed role, you will have the unique opportunity to empower neurodivergent children (aged 7-12) with essential life skills, fostering social confidence and independence.

The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with students with special needs and committed to creating a supportive learning environment as we continue to make meaningful impact in society and build an inclusive future.

You will be involved in the end-to-end execution of your teaching work and experience firsthand how your efforts are positively changing and impacting the lives of families and children with special needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct screenings and assessments of potential students.

  • Develop, implement, and review lesson plans based on the given curriculum.

  • Deliver every session's content according to the provided lesson plans.

  • Track students' progress, performance, and behavior.

  • Adjust lesson plan content and teaching methods/strategies to meet the unique needs of each student.

  • Collaborate with team members, parents, and therapists to support students' success.

  • Establish an inclusive and positive classroom environment that promotes student growth and development.

  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in special education and pursue professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2-3 years of working experience within a SPED school and/or worked with children with special needs, including autism, intellectual disabilities, down syndrome, etc.

  • Relevant specialist diploma or degree in a related field or valid teaching certification in Special Education is advantageous but not mandatory.

  • Basic understanding of special education laws and regulations.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills with students, parents, and team members.

  • Excellent patience, empathy, and desire to help students achieve their full potential.

  • Self-motivated, independent, and proactive individual who can positively influence the team.

  • Resourceful, result-driven, and able to problem-solve and adapt to changing educational environments.

  • Continuous learner who thrives in a dynamic environment.
