Engineering Lead

Job description

You will play a pivotal role in leading a team of Software engineers, QA and AI/ML engineers in the design, development, testing and deployment of next-generation SaaS solutions.

You will work cross functionally to drive initiatives that leverage cloud technologies, streamline development pipelines, enhance our AI capabilities, and ensure robust security and compliance practices are followed.

In this role, you will also collaborate closely with product, data, and operations teams to ensure efficient, secure, and reliable delivery of solutions that meet customer needs.

Responsibilities:

• Leadership and Team Management: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software engineers, QA engineers and AI/ML engineer fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  
  Manage performance, conduct regular code reviews, and provide guidance on best practices.
  
  
• DevOps and Cloud Infrastructure: Oversee the integration of DevOps practices, ensuring efficient and automated workflows for continuous delivery.
  
  Drive the adoption and optimization of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP) to ensure scalability, security, and cost-efficiency for all applications.
  
  
• CI/CD Pipeline Management: Spearhead the design and implementation of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, ensuring high-quality code delivery with minimal downtime.
  
  Continuously improve the deployment process to achieve faster and more reliable releases.
  
  
• SaaS Architecture and Development: Collaborate with product and engineering teams to architect and build scalable, secure, and highly available SaaS solutions.
  
  Ensure that software is built in a way that scales to meet business growth and customer demand.
  
  
• AI/ML Integration: Leverage artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques to drive product innovation and enhance customer experience.
  
  Guide the team in integrating AI/ML models into production systems with a focus on performance, scalability, and reliability.
  
  
• Security & Compliance: Ensure the engineering team adheres to best practices for security and compliance across all systems.
  
  Lead efforts to implement security controls, risk assessments, and maintain industry compliance standards such as GDPR, SOC 2, HIPAA, and others.
  
  Partner with security teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
  
  
• Collaboration: Work closely with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define technical requirements and ensure that solutions align with business goals.
  
  Serve as a technical advocate and provide expertise in the design and architecture of cloud-native applications.
  
  
• Process Improvement: Drive the continuous improvement of development practices, tooling, and infrastructure.
  
  Identify bottlenecks and areas of improvement in software delivery and implement effective solutions.
  
  
• Innovation and Research: Stay ahead of industry trends and emerging technologies, bringing innovative solutions and ideas to the table.
  
  Evaluate and implement new tools and frameworks that enhance productivity and the quality of deliverables.
  
  
• Documentation and Process Improvement: Maintain comprehensive documentation for system architecture, infrastructure processes, and deployments.
  
  Drive the continuous improvement of development practices, tooling, and infrastructure.
  
  Identify bottlenecks and areas of improvement in software delivery, refine development worflows and implement effective solutions
• Problem Solving: Identify and debug complex performance and functional issues across the platform.
  
  Propose and implement solutions that drive system reliability and maintainability.
  
  

Ideal Experience:

• Working Experience: 8+ years of experience in software engineering with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  
  Proven track record of managing and mentoring high-performing engineering teams.
  
  
• Technical Expertise: Strong experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  
  Hands-on experience with DevOps practices and tools (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Jenkins, etc.).
  
  Expertise in CI/CD pipeline design and automation.
  
  Familiarity with SaaS architecture and development.
  
  In-depth knowledge of AI/ML tools and frameworks, including TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
  
  Strong understanding of containerization, microservices, and serverless architecture.
  
  
• Security Compliance: Proven experience in security practices, frameworks, and regulations such as GDPR, SOC 2, HIPAA, and others.
  
  Experience with implementing and maintaining security compliance in cloud-native applications and SaaS environments.
  
  Familiarity with tools and practices for secure software development and deployment (e.g., security scanning, vulnerability management, encryption).
  
  Ability to manage risk and ensure that all systems meet required security and compliance standards.
  
  
• Programming Skills: Proficiency in modern programming languages such as Python, Java, Go, or similar.
  
  Experience with infrastructure-as-code and scripting.
  
  
• Leadership & Collaboration: Exceptional leadership skills with a focus on team development and performance.
  
  Experience working in agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  
  
• Communication: Strong communication skills, both technical and non-technical, with the ability to influence and drive change across the organization.
  
  
• Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a passion for solving complex engineering challenges at a scale.
