At Xtremax, we’re looking for an experienced Engineering Lead to drive the technical direction of our development teams and deliver impactful, high-performance digital solutions for enterprise and government clients.
You’ll lead multiple squads, provide architectural guidance, and ensure that our systems are scalable, maintainable, and secure.
This role blends strong technical leadership with a passion for mentoring engineers and building solutions that solve real-world problems.
Responsibilities:
Lead multiple squads of frontend and backend engineers to deliver high-quality, maintainable software on schedule.Define and implement scalable system architecture and technical best practices across projects.Oversee end-to-end project delivery — from design, development, and code review to deployment and optimization.Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.Support system migrations from legacy environments to modern architectures (e.g., microservices).Design and build core services such as authentication (OAuth 2.0), KYC integration, and enterprise data connectivity.Conduct technical reviews, provide documentation, and uphold engineering quality standards.Mentor and coach developers through regular one-on-one sessions and performance discussions.Drive team collaboration and continuous improvement through agile practices and knowledge sharing.Requirements
Must Have
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.Proven experience managing and mentoring cross-functional development teams.Strong hands-on expertise in:Backend: Golang, Java, Spring BootFrontend: JavaScript, React.js, Next.jsDatabase: PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDBMessage Queue / Cache: Kafka, RedisSolid understanding of system design, microservices architecture, and API integrations.Experience designing or integrating authentication systems (OAuth 2.0) and KYC processes.Excellent communication, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills.Strong sense of ownership and accountability for delivering results.Experience with Singapore government agencies projectsGood to Have
Experience in Enterprise SaaS environments.Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), CI/CD, and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes).Experience with React Native or mobile development.Understanding of security frameworks, compliance standards, and government API integrations (e.g., Dukcapil).Background in Agile/Scrum methodologies.Exposure to infrastructure scaling, performance optimization, or DevOps practices.Previous experience working with or mentoring distributed teams.
