Salary ranges from $4000 - $7000
You will be part of a core technical team working in large-scale waste management facilities and waste-to-energy plants.
The scope of work will involve both project management and operations/maintenance support depending on your posting.
Project Work (Construction & Commissioning)
- Support engineers in supervising construction progress for major waste management facilities.
- Collaborate with project consultants and government stakeholders to ensure facilities are designed, constructed, and installed according to specifications and statutory requirements.
- Participate in testing and commissioning of mechanical, process, electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation systems.
- Attend local and overseas factory acceptance tests (FATs) to verify quality and performance of critical equipment.
Operations & Maintenance (Waste-to-Energy Facilities)
- Lead a unit of technical specialists and coordinate maintenance work with contractors and internal teams to ensure safe and efficient plant operations.
- Implement preventive maintenance and overhaul programs for electrical and control equipment including turbo-generators, motors, switchgears, low- and high-tension systems, distributed control systems, and field instruments.
- Administer contracts for operation and maintenance of mechanical, EICA, and building services equipment.
- Enforce permit-to-work systems, safety protocols, and supervise contractor activities for quality and safety compliance.
- Contribute to the development of standard operating procedures, safety guidelines, and equipment testing/changeover programs.
- Perform rotating shift duties, including weekends and public holidays, if required.
- Assist engineers in implementing safety and continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen safety culture and drive operational excellence.
Requirements:
- Diploma in Engineering (any discipline) or Nitec in Engineering.
- Diploma holders: at least 3 years of relevant experience.
- Nitec holders: 6–8 years of relevant experience preferred.
- Professional certifications such as Licensed Electrical Worker, Boiler Attendant, or Workplace Safety and Health Officer will be an advantage.
- Strong technical knowledge with analytical and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of solid waste management will be beneficial.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Navisworks and Primavera P6 is advantageous.
- Mature, independent, resourceful, and a good team player.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Willingness to work in waste-to-energy facilities.
- Ability to perform rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays, if required.
