About the Team
The Business Risk Integrated Control (BRIC) team is missioned to:
- Protect TikTok users from abusive behaviors and activities, including fake accounts, social spam, growth fraud, etc.;
- Secure platform health and community experience authenticity, for content consumers, creators, advertisers and beyond;
- Build infrastructures, platforms, and technologies, and collaborate with many cross-functional teams and stakeholders to improve the healthiness and transparency of the TikTok platform.
The BRIC team works to minimize the damage of inauthentic behaviors on TikTok platforms (.
TikTok, CapCut, Lark), covering multiple classical and novel community and business risk areas such as account integrity, engagement authenticity, anti spam, API abuse, growth fraud, live streaming security and financial safety (ads or e-commerce), etc.
In this team you'll have a unique opportunity to have first-hand exposure to the strategy of the company in key security initiatives, especially in building scalable and robust, intelligent and privacy-safe, secure and product-friendly systems and solutions.
Our challenges are not some regular day-to-day technical puzzles -- You'll be part of a team that's developing novel solutions to first-seen challenges of a non-stop evolvement of a phenomenal product eco-system.
The work needs to be fast, transferrable, while still down to the ground to make quick and solid differences.
Responsibilities
- Establish and enhance risk defense strategy, operational excellence, plus technical roadmap of a risk domain of TikTok products/platforms (., fake accounts detection, social spam, financial fraud, .
- Own end-to-end risk defense business results of the given risk area, drive planning and execution, win trust from internal stakeholders and external users.
- Within the given managerial scope, uplevel engineering excellence and culture, support career growth of engineers and data scientists, deepen XFN collaboration, empower the team for long term success.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master or above degree in computer science, statistics, or other relevant, machine-learning-heavy majors.
- Solid engineering skills.
Proficiency in at least two of: Linux, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Storm.
- Familiarity with data mining, data science, machine learning or finance/social platform risk defense.
Bonus given if possessing at least one advantage among risk control, data science, machine learning, risk engine, realtime computing.
- Strong ownership; proactive, skillful, candid and clear communication; ability to handle high complexity, urgency, cross-functional alignment; stay empathetic and calm; Preferred Qualifications
- 4 years of technical leadership experience in relevant industry jobs.
- 2 years of software engineering or data science managerial experience in relevant industry jobs.
