Job description

Job Summary

The Opportunity

  • Act as the highest escalation point for team members and lead incident, problem, and change management processes.

  • Assign technical tasks, encourage collaboration, and promote best practices within the team.

  • Manage fault investigation, resolution of monitoring alerts, and user-raised tickets.

  • Raise and oversee technical changes in PostgreSQL/Sybase environments from a RUN/BAU perspective.

  • Participate in infrastructure events (e.g., power-downs, DR tests) and ensure compliance with standards and procedures.

  • Maintain up-to-date documentation and lead continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Assist in root cause analysis for high-severity issues and drive automation to improve efficiency.

  • Ensure mandatory training is completed and maintain technical competence.

  • Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory, and internal policies.

  • Support Asia and EMEA time zones, including shift work and on-call rotation for critical incidents.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership:

  • Escalation Point: Manage critical issues and collaborate with teams to resolve complex problems.

  • Technical Task Assignment: Assign and monitor tasks to ensure timely completion and quality standards.

Operational Management:

  • Incident Management: Investigate and resolve faults, monitoring alerts, and user-raised tickets.

  • Technical Change Management: Oversee changes in PostgreSQL/Sybase environments.

Infrastructure and Compliance:

  • Participation in Infrastructure Events: Participate in power-downs, DR tests, and other infrastructure-related activities.

  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to standards, procedures, and regulations.

Documentation and Improvement:

  • Documentation Maintenance: Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation.

  • Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Drive process improvements and optimize systems.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Root Cause Analysis: Assist in identifying and resolving high-severity issues.

  • Automation: Drive efficiency by automating tasks and processes.

  • Training: Maintain technical skills through ongoing education and training.

  • Policy Compliance: Adhere to company policies, laws, and regulations.

Work Environment

This role requires working across multiple time zones, including Asia and EMEA regions.

On-call rotations may be necessary for critical incidents.
