Job Description:
- Developing and implementing a framework of fire and ESH policies, risks management, training programs and compliant enforcement.
- Being a proactive driver for compliance to regulatory requirements (MOM, NEA, PUB, SCDF, LTA) and safety and occupational health practices.
- Being a safety expert advisor in engineering & process designs, and procurement of plant & machineries and services.
- Maintaining certification of ISO 14001:2015 Environment Management System (EMS), ISO 45001:2018 and SS 651:2019 Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) and BizSafe Level Star.
- Promoting safety culture amongst stakeholders: Management and staff, operators, and supervisors and workmen of contractors to pre-empt and eliminate workplace injury and illness.
- Planning and initiating events to promote fire and occupational safety and health awareness.
- Being appointed to be Safe Management Officer(SMO) to assist in the implementation, co-ordination, and monitoring of Safe Management Measures at the workplace.
- Inspects the facilities, plants, and equipment to identify fire, safety, health, and environmental risks.
- Checks and updates validity of operational licenses & approvals and equipment certifications.
- Walks the shop floor to monitor Process Owners' compliance with safety procedures, occupational health safe practices and environmental pollution preventive measures.
- Conducts risk assessments and investigates workplace accidents, and near missed incidents.
- Prepares and submits investigation / inspection reports to document findings, recommendations and follow up on matters arising from these activities.
- Ensures that GHS requirements and Safety Data Sheets are maintained and readily accessible when needed.
- Prepares and schedules training to cover emergency procedures, workplace safety, and other relevant topics.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Safety, Occupational Safety and Health, or related field
- Registered Safety Officer with MOM
- FSM qualifications recognized by SCDF for registration as site FSM
- At least 5 years of ESH experience in chemical, petrochemical, hazardous waste management, or other manufacturing environment.
- Extensive knowledge of relevant legislative requirements, regulations, and best practices.
- Experience in logistics and fleet management
- Proactive and meticulous personality with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Organised and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
