Sushi Chef Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Sushi Chef to join our culinary team.
- Must have extensive experience as an authentic sushi chef with a strong background in traditional Japanese cuisine.
- At least several years of working in the counter of an authentic sushi restaurant, preferably in Japan.
- A recognized culinary education from a reputable school in Japan is highly preferred.
- Possess a genuine passion for hospitality and a drive for excellence in your profession.
- Able to work effectively as part of a cohesive team, supporting our company's philosophy and objectives.
- Fluent in English and Japanese languages.
- Personable and humble, always striving for perfection in your work.
Job Responsibilities:
- Utilize advanced techniques and recipes to create high-quality dishes that meet our standards.
- Execute sushi counter service according to our established protocols.
- Oversee back kitchen operations and assist in preparing cooked dishes according to our requirements.
- Ensure the freshness of all produce received and served at all times.
- Maintain the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness in food and kitchen operations.
- Educate customers on the origin and background of seasonal ingredients to enhance their dining experiences.
- Assist with beverage pairing recommendations for customers.
- Deliver exceptional Japanese-style service (OMOTENASHI).
- Contribute to dishwashing duties as needed.
- Assist with stocktaking and inventory management tasks.
