Overview
Reporting to the Service Supervisor, this role is part of a national team of Field Service Engineers providing prompt and effective service to customers within the Water, Power, Petrochemical and other associated industries.
Responsibilities
Identify faults, repair, test and modify actuators in the field.
Carry out planned and preventative maintenance, mechanical and electrical installations of actuators.
Perform retrofit adaptation of components, pedestals and drive shafts.
Complete accurate and technical site visit reports for each job.
This role requires a determined problem-solver who can think logically to troubleshoot issues and is willing to travel.
Qualifications
Formal Mechanical or Electrical qualifications.
Experience post-study in a practical engineering environment, preferably in a field-based role.
Proficient Microsoft Office user (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Willingness to attend training courses to attain qualifications such as Confined Space, Working at Heights, and First Aid Competence.
There may also be a requirement to carry out customer inductions, medicals and inoculations.
Able and willing to meet extensive travel commitments.
A full valid driver’s license is required.
Technical experience and/or knowledge of valves, actuators and digital control systems.
Good understanding of basic electronics, electrical and fluid power theories.
Ability to read and understand electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics and utilize common test and calibration tools.
