Overview
Finance and Accounting Manager (Bangkok Based, Relocation Support Provided) at Agoda.
This role leads financial reporting, oversees finance and accounting initiatives, and ensures compliance with regulations and internal controls.
Responsibilities
Work closely with other stakeholders in the Company and lead financial reporting and operating functions to understand and assess the impact of Company’s initiatives and projects.
Manage and implement Company’s initiatives and projects from a finance and accounting perspective, including providing requirements, designing and performing UAT, designing new workflows, monitoring post go-live processes, and troubleshooting.
Identify and drive process and technology improvement opportunities.
Provide reports and analyze the Company’s financial performance to support management decision making.
Address ad-hoc requests and issues (e.g., data extraction and/or analysis, risk and scope assessments over new initiatives).
Coordinate with various operations and support units to ensure timely and accurate data for internal and external financial reporting.
Manage day-to-day financial activities; control financial resources; ensure transactions, systems, and procedures comply with regulations, accounting principles, and standards.
Troubleshoot problems, identify impacts (financial reporting, operational, etc.), and address potential control gaps or deficiencies.
Supervise day-to-day operations and month-end closing for related areas.
Maintain internal control environment in line with corporate policy, anti-corruption controls, and SOX requirements.
Provide oversight, training, and coaching to department associates.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
What you'll need to succeed
Bachelor's / Master's Degree in Accounting or Finance
8–12 years of experience including finance operations (accounts payable or accounts receivable), risk control, or finance functions with some management experience
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills
Strong problem-solving abilities and initiative
Dynamic and able to adapt to a fast-paced environment with a growth mindset
Experience in project management; strong English written and spoken skills
Excellent leadership and people management skills
Proficiency in presentation skills and Microsoft PowerPoint; engaging, articulate presentations
Excellent computer proficiency, especially in Excel
Familiar with local/US GAAP and knowledge of financial and accounting controls
Nice to have
CPA and audit background
Experience leading a team
Experience in payment solutions or credit card environments
Knowledge of SQL and data analysis tools; Macro Excel
Accounting experience in online travel agency business
