Full Stack Developer, Digital Services and Communications (2-Year Contract)

You’ll create innovative web applications for major festivals, museum exhibitions, and heritage initiatives that connect diverse audiences with compelling cultural stories.
Key Responsibilities

Web Application Development Design, develop, and deploy new web applications, websites, and microsites that enhance access to and engagement with heritage content.
Build user interfaces using modern frameworks (React, Vue) with a focus on performance, accessibility, and user experience, enabling diverse audiences to interact meaningfully with cultural stories.
Implement back-end services, APIs, and databases to power both business systems and public-facing applications that scale across festivals, museums, and digital platforms.

Maintenance & Optimisation Support and enhance existing web applications to ensure reliable, seamless digital experiences for both visitors and staff.
Conduct regular audits to identify areas for improvement (performance, security, accessibility, load times).
Develop and maintain RESTful/GraphQL APIs. Ensure best practices in scalability, reliability, security.
Support cloud deployments, CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git).

Testing, Deployment & Support Write clean, well-documented, testable code.
Perform unit, integration, end-to-end testing.
Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues.
Plan lifecycle maintenance and upgrades.
Work with UX/UI designers, curators, business units.
Partner with vendors and technology providers.
Explore emerging technologies.
Ideal Profile
- Diploma and/or degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in full-stack web application development.
- Experience with back-end frameworks (Node.js, Express, Python/Django, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Understanding of web security, responsive design, accessibility standards.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, collaborative ability.
Preferred
- Experience with containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) or serverless architecture.
- Knowledge of website optimisation tools (Lighthouse, PageSpeed).
- Familiarity with data visualisation libraries (D3.js, Chart.js).
- Interest in heritage, culture, digital innovation.
