The School of Social Sciences, Singapore Management University, invites applications for a position at the Assistant Professor rank (education track).
Candidates must have expertise and research interests in either moral philosophy, political philosophy, or social philosophy.
Candidates must also be able to develop and teach an undergraduate course in environmental ethics and contribute to undergraduate teaching in introductory ethics and critical thinking.
Having research interests in environmental ethics, the philosophy of sustainability, or philosophical issues related to climate change would also be an advantage.
This position requires a doctorate in Philosophy and teaching experience at the tertiary level.
We are seeking candidates with demonstrated excellent teaching ability, as well as a good scholarly research record.
Education track faculty teach six course sections per academic year, which is approximately nine hours of teaching per week for each semester.
Course sections are capped at no more than 48 students.
In addition to teaching, education track faculty are also expected to engage in research and perform internal service activities such as curriculum design and review.
