( ) Automation & Digital Solutions Traineeship at Singapore Prison Service.
The GRaduate Industry Traineeship Programme within the Public Service ( ) aims to provide fresh graduates with opportunities to gain industry-relevant skills and experience that can strengthen their employability to take up full time roles in the sector.
The trainee will support SPS in the digital transformation of work processes through the use of low-code/no-code platforms (e.g., Microsoft Power Platform, Robotic Process Automation, GovTech platforms), enabling greater operational efficiency, effectiveness, and user empowerment across divisions in SPS.
What You Will Be Working On
Process Mapping & Analysis: Understand existing workflows and identify pain points; Collaborate with stakeholders to document and optimize processes; Suggest the right digital tools to automate processes.
Low-Code/No-Code Development: Build apps, workflows, and dashboards using tools including but not limited to Microsoft Power Platform, Robotic Process Automation, GovTech platforms; Assist in testing, deployment, and iteration of digital solutions.
User Engagement & Support: Gather user feedback and provide basic troubleshooting; Help train users on new digital tools and solutions.
Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Maintain solution documentation and user guides; Contribute to internal knowledge bases or digital playbooks.
Key Qualifications
What we are looking for
Educational Background: Diploma in Information Systems, Business IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Other disciplines (e.g., Business, Public Policy, Design) may be considered if supplemented with relevant digital project experience.
Technical Foundations: Basic understanding of digital tools, data handling, or workflow concepts.
Exposure to Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) is a plus, but not mandatory.
Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to break down processes and identify areas for improvement; Comfortable working with data and logic-based tools.
Communication & Collaboration: Good interpersonal skills to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders; Ability to document and explain digital solutions clearly.
Desirable experience (not mandatory): Academic or internship projects involving process mapping or workflow improvement; building simple apps, forms, or dashboards; automating tasks using Power Automate; completion of online courses or certifications (e.g., Microsoft Learn, LinkedIn Learning); personal projects using Power Platform, UiPath or similar tools.
