About the Role:
You’ll be part of the International Actuarial Team, where you’ll support pricing, portfolio management, reserving, and capital across a wide range of international operations, regions, and lines.
Your role will be highly commercial and deeply embedded within the business, involving daily collaboration with underwriting teams, fellow actuarial professionals, and senior stakeholders.
You’ll focus heavily on pricing local business, and your position will be based in either Australia or Singapore.
In this role, you’ll serve as the senior actuarial business partner for the APAC region, collaborating closely with regional leadership—including the Head of APAC, country managers, and underwriters.
Your focus will be on enhancing the technical expertise and business partnering already provided by the International actuarial teams, ensuring that local business is analyzed to global standards while effectively incorporating local nuances.
In the short term, you’ll play a key role in supporting international product pricing teams by executing local pricing initiatives.
This senior regional actuarial position marks a pivotal step in Everest Insurance International’s expansion.
As the business grows, your responsibilities will evolve, and you’ll help shape and build out more localized actuarial teams across the region.
You’ll be based in either Sydney or Singapore, working on a hybrid schedule (3 days in the office, 2 days remote).
Role & Responsibilities (include but not limited to):
Business Partnering
You’ll be the go-to person for local leadership, working alongside International Pricing, Portfolio Management, Reserving, and Capital teams to strengthen business partnering efforts
Pricing
You’ll carry out case pricing for local business in line with International standards and peer review pricing completed by the International product pricing team.
You’ll collaborate effectively with the International product pricing team to balance the pricing workload based on expertise and availability.
You’ll help ensure exposure pricing tools are properly calibrated to local business needs, contributing to investigations and preparing documentation to secure approvals for assumptions from the Chief Pricing Actuary International and Chief Actuary.
Reserving & Capital
You’ll provide insights on APAC pricing and business issues to support the reserving position developed by the International Reserving team, including the Chief Reserving Actuary and Head of Actuarial Function.
You’ll communicate the connection between pricing, reserving, and P&Ls to local leadership.
You’ll contribute to capital insights for local legal entities in collaboration with the International Capital team.
Portfolio Management
You’ll work with the International Head of Portfolio and Performance Management and local leadership to analyze the experience of local business.
You’ll contribute to periodic price monitoring (RARC) reporting.
You’ll understand and communicate Rate Adequacy.
You’ll support portfolio reviews, planning, and the development of KPIs.
Other Responsibilities
You’ll use your knowledge to support local leadership in running their business.
You’ll contribute to new product and territory analysis, M&A due diligence, and ad-hoc projects as requested by management.
Line Management
You’ll manage a small team dedicated to supporting local business.
Qualifications:
You hold a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, or a related field.
You are a qualified actuary (preferred).
You bring substantial experience in actuarial work, particularly with a strong focus on pricing expertise.
You possess robust technical, analytical, and IT skills.
You communicate clearly and collaborate effectively with others.
You operate confidently at all levels and earn the trust of both colleagues and senior leadership.
You work seamlessly across teams and regions.
You take ownership of your work and show initiative in driving tasks forward.
