POSITION SUMMARY
The Head of APAC Regional Marketing is an executive-level (SVP) position that is responsible for partnering with Global Marketing and Customer Success leaders to position SAP as a leader, achieve cloud revenue objectives and pipeline health through the development and execution of high impact marketing strategies and programs designed to drive tangible, measurable market growth in APAC across the following Market Units: ANZ, Greater China, India, Korea, Japan, Southeast Asia.
The position will align closely with key sales leaders and stakeholders and will focus on demand generation, account-based marketing, partner marketing, events, pipeline progression and customer adoption marketing.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE
We are seeking an experienced tech marketing leader with a proven track record of successfully managing large teams and building bridges in a matrixed, global organization.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 15+ years of marketing experience, with a strong preference for those with recent experience in leading in regional markets to connect the dots from global strategy to local activation.
A bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or a related field is required, and an advanced degree is highly preferred.
Proficiency in Mandarin and or Japanese is not mandatory but would be a strong advantage in this role.
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to take marketing strategy from vision to execution, at scale.
This role requires someone who thrives in fast-paced environments where change and transformation are part of the daily landscape.
Experience in managing multi-departmental budgets, establishing effective metrics, and optimizing business processes is essential.
The right person for this role will be agile, collaborative, data-driven, outcome-focused, have a strong aptitude for driving change management and transformation, have strong executive presence.
They will be known for building trusted, high-performance teams.
This position demands frequent travel and expertise across all facets of marketing—from creative and corporate functions to executing programs and campaigns that deliver pipeline and outcomes at the field level.
While experience in the high-tech (hardware or software) sector is a plus, it is not a requirement.
More crucially, the candidate must have experience leveraging both digital and in-person marketing strategies, including AI, to enhance account engagement, drive demand creation, and generate measurable revenue impact.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing Strategy Excellence
§ Lead the creation and execution of innovative marketing programs in close collaboration with the Integrated Marketing Team and Customer Success teams to achieve revenue and pipeline goals across all sources of demand.
§ Develop and implement agile, differentiated marketing strategies that span the entire customer lifecycle, including new account acquisition, expansion, and adoption.
§ Provide strategic direction while ensuring alignment, integration, and collaboration across regional teams and with Global Marketing corporate functions and Marketing Operations during the joint business planning process.
§ Develop and drive the adoption of best practices in the areas of partner marketing, event marketing, account-based marketing, demand generation and pipeline progression.
§ Run a disciplined governance model to track and communicate performance management and clear results reporting, working closely with Marketing Ops team.
§ Strong market and competitive knowledge of cloud market and competitive landscape.
§ Partner with all sources of demand (sales, digital hugs, partner, partner marketing, and global marketing) to build an integrated regional marketing strategy that aligns to business priorities and drives measurable impact.
§ Operationalize strategy with excellence by managing execution across channels, programs, and teams—ensuring consistency, efficiency, and accountability for results.
Marketing Operations Excellence
§ Foster cross-functional alignment and collaboration between Market Units, Product Marketing, and the enterprise and corporate segments to drive pipeline growth and revenue impact.
§ Lead the marketing team toward operational excellence, ensuring scalability, best practices, continuous learning, and a seamless transition from strategy to execution.
§ Ensure strong alignment and collaboration between Customer Success and Global Marketing teams.
§ Manage the marketing budget effectively, making data-driven investment decisions aligned with corporate, marketing, and regional priorities.
§ Set clear goals, objectives, and KPIs for all marketing initiatives, ensuring they are tracked and achieved including program ROI and performance.
§ Cultivate and maintain strong, productive executive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
§ Participate and lead marketing participation in regional demand management communities and forums.
Management Excellence
§ Exemplify exceptional leadership and resource management to maximize the team's potential in achieving marketing KPIs while maintaining a high-performance culture.
§ Build, develop, and retain a high-performing, multi-generational team, prioritizing an inclusive workplace.
§ Exemplify excellent executive presence, stakeholder management and expectation setting.
§ Ensure clear and proactive communication and execution of performance and role expectations, remaining unapologetically focused, and unafraid to show when targets are not being met, coupled with a clear mitigation plan.
