The Role
As the Head of Payroll, you will be responsible for the entire payroll function for our large and complex Singapore-based workforce.
You will lead a dedicated team, ensuring operational excellence, ensuring strict compliance with Singaporean laws and regulations while driving system and process improvements through our HRIS platform, SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP).
This is a critical leadership role that requires a meticulous, experienced, and forward-thinking professional.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing payroll team, setting clear goals and fostering a culture of accuracy and continuous improvement.
Payroll Operations:
Oversee the end-to-end payroll processing for over 8,000+ employees, with a mix of local and foreign employees, ensuring timely and accurate disbursement of salaries other compensation.
Compliance & Governance:
Act as the subject matter expert on all Singapore payroll-related matters.
Ensure full compliance with the Employment Act, CPF, IRAS and all other statutory requirements.
System Management:
Work with IT Product and AMS teams to manage and optimize the SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) system, including system upgrades, testing, and troubleshooting.
Process Improvement:
Proactively identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes, improve accuracy, and enhance scalability to support company growth.
Reporting & Audits:
Prepare detailed payroll reports, reconciliations, and analytics for management.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Partner closely with HR and Finance departments to ensure seamless data flow and process integration.
Handle complex and escalated employee payroll queries with professionalism and care.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience:
A minimum of 10 years of payroll experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing payroll for a company with at least 5,000 employees in Singapore.
Legal Expertise:
In-depth, current knowledge of the Singapore Employment Act, CPF Act, and Income Tax Act.
Proven experience handling all statutory submissions and government-paid claims.
Technical Skills:
Hands-on, proficient experience with SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP) is essential.
Experience with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and similar automations is preferred.
Leadership:
Demonstrated experience in leading and developing a high-performing payroll team.
Analytical Skills:
Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex data and resolve intricate payroll issues.
Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with employees at all levels, senior management, and external authorities.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Finance, or a related field is preferred
