Head of Supply Chain
to lead and execute the Asia Pacific supply chain strategy in alignment with global objectives.
This role is instrumental in driving operational excellence, enhancing customer satisfaction, and ensuring profitability through efficient, customer‐centric supply chain practices.
You will lead, develop, and mentor a regional supply chain team while collaborating closely with senior management to shape regional strategies.
The position reports to a global functional leader based outside of Asia and works cross‐functionally with business units across the region.
Key Responsibilities
Lead regional supply chain operations, including procurement, planning, and customer service, to deliver on qualitative and quantitative performance targets.
Build long‐term strategic partnerships with suppliers and identify new sourcing opportunities to strengthen competitiveness and supply resilience across the region.
Foster collaboration between supply chain, operations, and commercial functions to ensure responsiveness, efficiency, and quality in meeting customer needs.
Develop and implement demand and supply planning processes that balance inventory optimisation with service level targets.
Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence across the supply chain, aligning with corporate and regional business goals.
Lead regional deployment of global supply chain initiatives and systems, including ERP and forecasting tools.
Monitor performance through structured reviews and drive timely resolution of operational challenges.
Coach and develop leaders within the team, building a strong talent pipeline and fostering a culture of accountability and engagement.
Extensive experience in procurement with solid understanding of related functions such as planning and customer service.
Lead regional supply chain operations with primary accountability for procurement strategy and execution, complemented by oversight of planning and customer service functions.
Drive strategic sourcing initiatives to optimise cost, quality, and supply continuity across multiple categories and manufacturing locations in Asia Pacific.
Build and sustain long‐term supplier partnerships, identifying new sources and developing alternate supply options to enhance competitiveness and supply resilience.
Proven strategic leadership across multiple supply chain disciplines.
Strong track record in supplier management, strategic sourcing, and contract negotiations.
Demonstrated ability to drive efficiency, manage complex cross‐functional projects, and deliver results within budget and timeline.
Excellent communication and influencing skills; ability to build trust and drive alignment across regions and functions.
Strong leadership capability with experience developing high‐performing teams in a multicultural environment.
Financial and commercial acumen with working knowledge of P&L, balance sheet, and ROI considerations.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field; postgraduate qualification preferred.
Minimum 15 years of progressive supply chain experience within a multinational manufacturing company.
Deep procurement experience in chemicals, or related raw materials across South, Southeast, or East Asia.
At least 5 years in a senior regional leadership capacity managing multiple teams and functions.
Cross‐regional and cross‐cultural experience within Asia.
Willingness to travel regionally.
