AVP - Investments, Front Office, & ESG at Bruin
The Fixed Income Institutional Client Portfolio Manager, based in Singapore’s, plays a key role within the Fixed Income front office Investment team.
Focused primarily on global fixed income strategies, the ICPM represents portfolio teams in direct engagements with clients, prospects, consultants, gatekeepers, and other stakeholders across Asia and Australia/New Zealand—providing transparency on investment philosophy, process, and portfolio strategy.
The role also acts as an investment leader for internal stakeholders, shaping investment narratives, sharing market insights, communicating strategy, and serving as a subject matter expert to support strategic initiatives.
By delivering marketplace intelligence to investment teams, the ICPM helps enhance the investment process and ensure strong alignment with client objectives.
This position reports to the Head of Institutional Fixed Income in the U.S.
What You Will Do
Embed yourself within portfolio management teams, earning trust, credibility, and influence.
Act as the client’s voice across the Fixed Income Investment organisation—ensuring alignment to client objectives, relaying feedback, and maintaining the highest investment standards.
Provide the investment team with relevant marketplace intelligence—covering market trends, competitive positioning, and key developments.
Represent investment teams internally and externally, articulating philosophy, process, portfolio strategy, and asset class perspectives with clarity and depth.
Contribute to portfolio strategy discussions by sharing investment views and market insights.
Drive preparation for high‐impact client engagements, ensuring consistent and compelling delivery.
Define and promote a clear investment value proposition for assigned strategies, ensuring consistent messaging across the organisation and in the market.
Work closely with Product and RFP teams to create and oversee investment materials and ensure timely, accurate client deliverables.
Collaborate with distribution teams to advance strategic initiatives, contribute to business planning, and align with broader organisational priorities.
Partner with investment and distribution colleagues to shape new product ideas and enhance existing strategies.
Support the creation of thought leadership content on key market and strategy topics.
Contribute to a cohesive, collaborative CIPM team culture, sharing best practices and fostering excellence.
What We Are Looking For
Minimum 7 years’ experience building credibility and strong relationships with sophisticated institutional investors, including sovereign wealth funds, asset owners, consultants, and gatekeepers.
Strong ability to explain investment processes, portfolio positioning, and strategy views—linking them to the broader macroeconomic context.
Deep understanding of global and regional fixed income markets, macroeconomic drivers, and institutional investment trends.
Exceptional written, verbal, and client‐facing communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for audiences of varying investment sophistication.
Proven track record of partnering across an organisation to build consensus, deliver strategic priorities, and strengthen stakeholder relationships.
Willingness to travel extensively across Asia and Australia/New Zealand, with additional travel to London and U.S. offices.
Knowledge of a local Asia regional language is advantageous.
