As recognized by The World Economic Forum, BCG, the OECD and more, these are big challenges to which only a few companies are offering real solutions.

In this role, you'll be speaking every day to corporate leaders who rely on GA to help them apply these solutions to their workforce of the future.

We are currently looking for instructional associates for our full-time (12 week) and part-time (24 week) bootcamps.

We are looking for instructional associates:
Our bootcamp courses are life-changing experiences where learners gain the skills and mindsets to take on new careers in user experience, data analytics, and software engineering roles.

Our instructional associates are integral in ensuring learners are supported throughout the course, whether they have questions about lesson concepts, homework, project requirements, and classroom community dynamics.

This role is based in Singapore and is delivered in a hybrid (campus and online) format, requiring instructors to reside in Singapore and have an eligible work permit or be a Singapore citizen or permanent resident.

(We are not currently sponsoring employees.)
Why become an Instructional Associate?
If you are looking to make a life-changing impact by sharing your love for user experience design, data analytics, and software engineering with our learners, we’d love for you to consider joining our team.

We deliver more than just skills training, and are looking for people who share our vision for a community of lifelong learners pursuing work that they love.

As an Instructional Associate, you will join us to:
Work closely with the instructional team (lead instructors, instructor manager) to guide students through a rigorous, transformational journey towards finding their careers in data science, software engineering or user experience design.

Become a better leader, coach, and mentor as you learn from students, experienced instructors, and the larger General Assembly community.

Inspire and support learners as they identify their interests and drive their own continued learning beyond the curriculum; motivate students when they deal with classroom and personal challenges that become barriers to learning.

Facilitate a safe, supportive, and energetic community that welcomes the various abilities, needs and learning styles of your students.

What do we teach?
We currently teach bootcamps focused on user experience, data analytics and software engineering.

Skills and Qualifications
You are eager to shape the skills, minds, and journeys of the newest generation of user experience designers.

You are the person that your colleagues naturally gravitate to when they are looking for guidance.

You have at least one year of experience in the content area you are applying for as an instructional associate: User Experience, Data Analytics, and Software Engineering.

Recent graduates (from General Assembly and beyond) are also encouraged to apply if you studied within the relevant field.

You have a deep understanding of the topics covered in the course.

Nice to have: experience teaching, mentoring, and/or coaching user experience designers in a professional and/or volunteer capacity (e.g. ADP List mentor).

This role is based in Singapore and you must be authorized to work in Singapore.

Please ensure you have the right to work in Singapore before applying.

Responsibilities and Duties
Be present and engaged when attending class sessions.

Full-time weekly schedule is Monday to Friday 9 AM to 6 PM.

Part-time weekly schedule is Tuesday/Thursday 7:00-10:00 PM and Saturday 9 AM - 6:30 PM.

(Note: instructional associate hours will be discussed during the interview process.)
Provide students with real-time support on their homework and projects, and provide motivation and coaching to students who are falling behind.

Review student homework and projects using an assessment rubric.

Mentor and coach students, drawing from your own experience.

You have the ability to put yourself in the students’ shoes and understand the stress and workload they are experiencing.

Use this advantage to both encourage students and be there when they need emotional support.

Stay in touch with instructors and GA staff.

Work alongside the rest of the team to best meet the needs and learning styles of your students.

Provide them with feedback on how the students are doing, what troubles the students are having, and which students might need additional coaching or are having a difficult time.

Stay up to date with the class work.

This involves being prepared with knowledge of the homework and which topics are currently relevant.

If need be, create extra resources and materials to enhance the learning experience.

Facilitate a dynamic, collaborative, and positive classroom community.

Encourage student participation and student collaboration.

Inspire students to persevere through the challenges of learning a new skill set, as well as dealing with learning barriers along the way.
