Valve Automation Instrument Technician

Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and hands‑on Valve Automation Instrument Technician to lead a team of Technical Engineers and Drafters in delivering high‑quality engineering solutions for instrumentation and valve automation projects.
The ideal candidate will have deep technical knowledge, strong leadership capabilities, and a passion for process improvement and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee technical reviews of new project orders and assign tasks to the engineering team.
- Ensure timely submission of engineering deliverables including:
Control schematic drawings
General assembly and wiring diagrams
Nameplate drawings
Test procedures
Data sheets, etc.
- Review and approve all engineering documents before client submission.
- Manage engineering changes and maintain updated documentation.
- Provide technical guidance and support to engineers, drafters, and operations team.
- Recommend solutions based on industry best practices to maintain competitiveness.
- Deliver accurate engineering calculations and solutions in line with project timelines.
- Ensure compliance with international and project‑specific standards such as:
ISO 12490
API 6DX
IOGP S-707
SHELL DEP - Provide field support for technical issues and after‑sales support as needed.
- Attend internal and external Kick‑Off Meetings (KOM).
- Participate in on‑site visits alongside technicians when necessary.
- Assist department manager in leading improvement initiatives and updating SOPs.
- Conduct performance reviews and competency assessments for engineering personnel.
- Support onboarding of new hires with training on engineering processes.
- Resolve aftermarket technical issues including design changes, fault findings, and supplier discrepancies.
- Support technical competency development and manage internal training programs.
Requirements
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Instrumentation Engineering (or equivalent).
- 6–8 years of supervisory experience in Valve Automation and/or Instrumentation .
- In‑depth knowledge of industrial standards: ISO 12490, API 6DX, IOGP S-707, and SHELL DEP.
- Strong understanding of pneumatic and hydraulic circuits.
- Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD 2D/3D and SAP is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft 365.
