Overview
Job Scope: Interior Designer (Retail Fit-Out)
Key Responsibilities
- Concept & Design Development
- Develop creative and functional interior design concepts tailored for retail environments.
- Translate branding and customer experience objectives into spatial design ideas.
- 2D Drawings & Technical Drafting
- Prepare detailed 2D drawings including:
- Space plans
- Furniture layouts
- Reflected ceiling plans (RCP)
- Elevations and sections
- Joinery and construction details
- Ensure drawings comply with building codes and fit-out requirements.
- 3D Visualization
- Create realistic 3D perspectives/renders to visualize the final retail space.
- Model design concepts using software like SketchUp, or similar .
- Present rendered views and walk-throughs to clients and stakeholders.
- Retail-Specific Detailing
- Incorporate signage, lighting concepts , and branding elements into the interior layout.
- Material & Finishes Selection
- Propose and specify appropriate materials, finishes, color palettes, and fittings.
- Prepare sample boards and coordinate with suppliers for mockups or approvals.
- Project Coordination
- Liaise with clients, project managers, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth execution.
- Attend site meetings and inspections to ensure design accuracy during implementation.
- Documentation & Submission
- Prepare necessary design packages and documents for authority submissions (if applicable).
- Maintain organized records of revisions, client feedback, and approvals.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D) , SketchUp
- Strong knowledge of retail space planning , fixture design , and material application .
- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple retail projects under tight timelines.
