About the role
Liquid Group is a fast-growing cross border payments fintech preparing for our next stage of expansion.
As Investment Manager, you will lead and execute all fundraising activities, including strategy, sourcing, engagement through to closing new capital partners.
You will work directly with the Executive Team to engage investors, structure deals, and secure funding.
This is a mission critical role suited for a capital markets professional with deep experience in venture fundraising, with significant visibility across the leadership team, board and existing investor base.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, drive, and refine the fundraising strategy
- Advise on optimal deal structure, valuation benchmarks, and investor fit based on company goals and market conditions
- Develop investor messaging, pitch materials, data room, and financial model in coordination with internal teams and external advisors
- Lead outreach and engagement with prospective investors globally, including VCs, family offices, sovereign funds, strategic fintech investors and institutional growth capital
- Own the capital raise process end-to-end, coordinating investor due diligence processes, Q&A, and negotiations through to final closing
- Build and maintain a dynamic pipeline of potential investors using industry research, network referrals, databases, and events
- Cultivate strong relationships with both new and existing investors and act as a trusted, knowledgeable representative of the company
- Map and segment the global investor landscape, including tracking preferences, thesis alignment, and historical deal activity
- Collaborate closely with the CEO, CFO, legal advisors, and board members to ensure fundraising progress is aligned with broader strategic goals
- Maintain robust reporting on investor conversations, timelines, and probability-weighted pipelines
- Monitor market trends in the fintech/payments space to inform investor positioning and capital planning
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics or related discipline (MBA/CFA a plus)
- 5–10 years of experience in investment banking, venture capital or private placement/capital raising
- Proven track record of leading or playing a key role in equity fundraising rounds, ideally Series B/C or later
- Deep familiarity with the investor landscape across family offices, VC, strategic fintech investors and growth equity in Asia (Europe, and/or North America a plus)
- Experience or strong understanding of payments and fintech infrastructure (e.g., acquiring, wallets, embedded finance, cross-border payments) is a strong advantage
- Excellent financial modelling, valuation, and investor presentation skills
- Ability to influence and build trust with senior investors and C-level executives
- High attention to detail and professionalism in documentation, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement
Preferred Attributes
- Prior experience working in a startup or scale-up environment
- Strong existing investor network across the fintech or tech sectors (especially in Singapore and greater Asia)
- Familiarity with cross-border capital flows and regulatory, licensing and fundraising considerations
