The Technology Division at BCS is responsible for the operations, maintenance, and support of BCS applications such as FAST, Giro, CTS, PayNow, SGQR, TFR, eGIRO and its critical infrastructure, ensuring its operational stability, regulatory compliance, and service reliability.
The IT Operations (‘Run’) department is regarded as BCS’s backbone, overseeing the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and support of IT systems and infrastructure that ensure the continuous delivery of BCS applications.
This includes the management of data center operations, application monitoring and Level incident management support, ensuring the systems are always available, secure, and compliant.
The IT Enablement lead, will be reporting to the Head of IT Operations, responsible for strategy and design covering people, processes and technology.
The incumbent will be required to refine and execute the road map to ensure alignment with the overall business and commercial strategies.
The incumbent will also be working closely with other departments and external vendors to ensure BCS’ IT infrastructure is resilient, compliant, and optimised for business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Accountable for delivering a technology transformation roadmap that cuts across multiple tenants of technology including but not limited to the below:
IT Service Management and IT Asset Management implementation
Infrastructure and Application Modernisation
Transformation in people and processes
Adoption of DevSecOps across the organisation
Implementation of tools and processes to enhance Automation Cloud and Datacentre Strategy
Enterprise architecture
IT Security
Improving security and compliance posture
Monitoring and improving team productivity through tools
Improving observability and quality of applications
Requirements
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
A master’s degree or relevant advanced certification would be highly advantageous.
At least 20 years of IT operations, application support and/or software engineering background with at least 10 years in a leadership role within the financial services, payment, or banking industry, focusing on mission‐critical, high‐availability services and complex IT infrastructure.
Possess a breadth of IT experience, expertise in digital transformation with a strong understanding of design methodologies.
Skills and Knowledge
Good understanding of mission critical and highly available complex IT services
Good level of technical appreciation of datacentre and cloud infrastructure
Familiar with IT security and cyber security best practices
Possess a high‐level overview of information technology governance
Strong awareness of modern tech stacks and developments with respect to software development using modern design principles, API driven development, DevSecOps, Cloud Native solutions should also be exhibited.
Experienced in implementing technology roadmaps, application and infra modernisation
Experienced working with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
Able to ‘think big’ and challenge conventional wisdom regarding technology refresh and hype
Ability to operate successfully in a matrix organisation and to mobilise individuals outside their reporting line
Excellent leadership skills that inspire others, promote teamwork and collaboration
Experienced in people and team management, including strong coaching skills
Strong negotiation skills with the ability to build consensus across different teams
Preferred Certifications
Certifications in TOGAF / MODAF / Zachman frameworks / AWS / AZURE / GCP
