Responsibilities
Administer, manage and maintain network, servers and storage
Provide technical support in computer hardware, software and associated peripherals and ensure computers are setup and configured with standard software for users in local and regional offices
Provide support for IT projects and propose recommendations to improve IT operations with suitable IT solutions and tools
Ensure proper functioning of all security appliances and adherence to IT security policy control
Create, review and update IT security policies and procedures
Carry out periodic and required security updates to all IT systems, computers and equipment
Perform backup and restoration of data & systems and periodic disaster recovery exercises as well as constant monitoring of system logs to identify and remove security threats
Propose and develop implementation plans of useful IT technologies for constant infrastructure and security improvements
Conduct User Training and documentation
Work closely with regional IT colleagues for support, system implementation and IT operations
Coordinate with IT vendors on faulty hardware repairs, replacement and support.
Skills and Experience
1.
Technical Skills
Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS)
Experience with networking (DNS, DHCP, VPNs, routing, firewalls)
Proficiency in server management (file servers, database servers)
Expertise in virtualization and cloud technologies (VMware, Microsoft Azure)
Backup and disaster recovery strategies
System monitoring and performance tuning

Security and Compliance
Security best practices (firewalls, antivirus, encryption, access control)
Understanding of data protection regulations (GDPR, etc.)
Experience with patch management and vulnerability assessment

Troubleshooting and Support
Incident response and problem-solving skills
Helpdesk or user support experience (T1-T3)
Ability to diagnose and resolve hardware/software issues

Automation and Scripting
Scripting skills for system management tasks (PowerShell, Bash)
Familiarity with automation tools (Power Automate, P)

Documentation and Reporting
Ability to create and maintain system documentation
Report generation for performance, security, and usage metrics

Experience working with cross-functional teams
Ability to work closely with IT team members from other locations
Experience with team management
Effective communication with non-technical stakeholders

Ability to handle infrastructure upgrades and migrations
Experience with planning and executing IT projects
Certifications
Relevant certifications (Microsoft, Cisco, AWS, etc.)

Experience in IT Infrastructure Management
Familiarity with managing and maintaining a site’s IT infrastructure
Knowledge of industry-standard tools for monitoring and managing systems

Bachelor's Degree
Computer Science

Alternative Qualifications
Associate's Degree in a related field (e.g., IT support, network administration)
Technical Certifications (in lieu of formal degrees, or as an addition):
Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, Azure, etc.
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)

Relevant Work Experience
Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or a related field
