Job Summary
The IT Network & Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's network and IT infrastructure systems.
This role ensures the stable operation of the company's IT assets, including servers, networks, storage, and cloud environments, to support business operations and provide a secure, high‐performing, and reliable technology platform.
Key Responsibilities
Network Management: Design, configure, install and maintain LANs, WANs, wireless networks, and other data communication systems; monitor network performance, troubleshoot issues (latency, packet loss, connectivity); implement security measures (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, access controls); perform backups and disaster recovery planning; manage network devices (routers, switches, access points, load balancers).
Server & System Administration: Install, configure and maintain physical and virtual servers (Windows Server, Linux); manage virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper‐V); monitor performance and security, perform patching; administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policies, and core infrastructure services; oversee backup and recovery for servers and critical data.
Storage Management: Design, implement and manage storage solutions (SAN, NAS, object storage); monitor utilization, performance and integrity; ensure data availability, integrity, and security across all storage systems.
Cloud Infrastructure: Plan, implement and manage cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform); manage virtual networks, machines, storage and security within cloud; monitor usage and optimize cost.
Security & Compliance: Implement and enforce IT security policies; conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and remediate gaps; ensure compliance with industry standards and data protection regulations (e.g., PDPA Singapore); manage endpoint security (antivirus, EDR).
Troubleshooting & Support: Provide expert technical support for network, server, and infrastructure issues; diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software problems; collaborate with other IT teams to resolve escalated issues.
Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and up‐to‐date documentation of configurations, builds, diagrams, and operational procedures; generate reports on performance, uptime, security incidents and resource utilization.
Project Participation: Participate in infrastructure upgrades, new system deployments and technology enhancements; evaluate new technologies and recommend solutions to improve efficiency and reliability.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 3–5 years in IT network and infrastructure engineering; proven experience with TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, VLANs, routing and switching; strong Windows Server administration (Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, GPO); experience with VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper‐V; practical experience with firewall and security devices; backup and disaster recovery expertise; familiarity with AWS and Azure; Linux experience is an advantage.
Technical Skills: Proficiency with Cisco, Juniper or equivalent hardware; solid understanding of server hardware and storage systems; scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Python) is a plus; strong IT security principles.
Soft Skills: Excellent analytical and problem‐solving abilities, effective communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and as part of a team, high initiative and ownership, good organization and time management.
