The IT Project Intmd Analyst is a developing professional role.

Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems.

Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices.

Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/ job family.

Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies.

Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information.

Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact.

Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results.

Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner.

Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information.

Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses' core activities.

Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates activities of an IT project team, identifying necessary resources and developing schedules to meet completion deadlines.

  • Collaborates in development of project business and system requirements.

  • Develops requirement documentation.

  • Communicates with project staff and clients regarding status of projects.

  • Utilizes project management tools and provides project status tracking and metrics
  • Utilizes project management tools and provides project status tracking, metrics and project estimates.

  • Contributes to process improvement efforts.

  • Utilizes good understanding of IT project leadership procedures and concepts and basic knowledge of other technical areas.

  • Evaluates business processes, system processes and industry standards.

  • Applies good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing objectives.

  • Provides guidance to new or lower level analysts.

  • Makes evaluative judgments based on analysis of factual information; resolves problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents.

  • Directly impacts the business by ensuring the quality of work provided by self and others; impacts own team and closely related work teams.

  • Exchanges ideas and information in a concise and logical manner.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years experience in an IT project leadership role with commensurate people management experience.

Education:

  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience

Key Responsibilities:


Act as a technical contact for external clients wanting to set up/improve their connectivity with Citi for Cash and Synthetic Prime Brokerage, through SFTP or SWIFT.

  • Capture and documentation of integration requirements for each request

  • Identify issues, risks, dependencies, and assumptions to ensure accurate planning

  • Act as an owner for each request and provide transparency between the business users and technology team(s) on status

  • Develop Subject Matter Expertise on business processes and technologies

  • Supporting client connectivity set up and trade file testing

  • Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions

Key Relationships:


External Clients

  • Front-Office Traders, Sales, and Business Managers;

  • Middle Office and Back Office functions;

  • Technology teams locally and in other regions; and

  • Other teams within Citi's technology organisation, i.e. support, development, hardware, networks, etc.

Knowledge/Experience:

  • The following required knowledge and experience is desirable for this position:

  • Experience in client facing roles on business critical projects;

  • Proven track record of delivery within a global environment;

  • Experience in the financial services sector and/or an investment bank;

Skills:

  • The following required skills are desirable for this position:

  • Strong in database (SQL) and an understanding of Unix;

  • Comfortable in the technical domain with understanding of how technology impacts business;

  • Understand and respond appropriately to internal and external client needs;

  • Hands-on experience of data mining activities and logical data mapping using SQL, etc.;

  • Exposure to project management and business analysis techniques, methodologies, and reporting.
