Our client is the corporate and investment banking arm of The Group, the world's 10th largest bank by total assets.
Their Singapore center, Information Systems Asia Pacific (ISAP), is one of the 3 main IT hubs for worldwide business, with over 1000 IT staff involved in Production and Application Development activities.
They support international branches in 33 countries by providing IT solutions and developing the Bank's future information systems.
The department is responsible for developing and maintaining Capital Market IT applications (both in-house and packaged), used globally.
These include Front Office systems (Murex, Apex, Orchestrade...), Back Office systems (Summit, Calypso...), Market data referential (Asset Control...), and Market Risk systems (in-house applications on big data technologies).
CARD is a key project within the Capital Market application landscape.
It manages the integration of market data (static and pricing) from external vendors into the bank's information systems.
CARD acts as the central source for sourcing and distributing market data to other bank systems such as accounting, risk, compliance, Front Office, and Back Office, serving as the bank's golden source.
This role involves developing the CARD application through project work and maintenance, as well as supporting daily operations.
It requires a deep understanding of business operations, timing, and data flow across internal and external systems.
The build and support team collaborates closely with business users, infrastructure engineers, and system managers.
Responsibilities:
Lead in technology design and propose architectural and operational evolution.
Develop high-quality, fully tested source code adhering to deadlines and standards.
Coordinate with business analysts to clarify requirements.
Manage deployment and change processes.
Develop testing strategies in collaboration with project managers and analysts.
Handle incidents and requests from business users and IT teams.
Analyze and implement enhancements and bug fixes.
Support applications in production, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance.
Monitor software quality and project outcomes.
Implement monthly release strategies and support production release roadmap.
Manage operational issues and process improvements.
Upgrade technology, tools, and infrastructure.
Automate manual tasks and improve delivery efficiency and quality.
Mandatory Skills:
4+ years of software development experience.
4+ years of experience with Java.
Proficiency in Linux/Unix, shell scripting (sh, bash/KSH).
Knowledge of AWS Cloud fundamentals (Microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, S3, Redshift).
Strong understanding of SOLID principles, unit and integration testing.
Experience with advanced Java features and Spring Boot framework.
Design and development of RESTful APIs with Swagger/OpenAPI.
Experience with Java OpenTelemetry and ElasticSearch for observability.
Good SQL knowledge.
Experience with Maven, Git, Gitlab, JIRA.
Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, and complexity analysis.
Ability to analyze, understand execution flow, and debug code without a debugger.
Optional expertise in Apache Kafka, Spark, Iceberg.
Analytical, proactive, security-conscious, and able to work under pressure.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Nice-to-Have Skills:
Interest or knowledge in finance and financial markets (bonds, equities, derivatives, CDS).
Willingness to provide L3 support if needed.
Experience with front-end frameworks like Angular or React.
