Job Description – E&I Engineer (Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer)
Position Summary
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Engineer to support our engineering and project teams.
The role involves design, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical and instrumentation systems to ensure reliable and safe plant operations.
The ideal candidate should have strong technical expertise in electrical systems, instrumentation, and control systems, with the ability to manage projects from design to execution.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Engineering
Develop, review, and update electrical and instrumentation design drawings, specifications, and calculations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements.
- Perform load calculations, cable sizing, and selection of E&I equipment.
Project Execution & Coordination
Plan, supervise, and execute E&I works in accordance with project schedules.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams for smooth project delivery.
- Review vendor documents, datasheets, and ensure material/equipment compliance.
Installation, Testing & Commissioning
Supervise installation and integration of electrical panels, cabling, field instruments, and control systems.
- Carry out loop checks, FAT, SAT, and commissioning activities.
- Troubleshoot and resolve E&I issues during construction and commissioning stages.
Operations & Maintenance
Provide technical support for maintenance and upgrades of E&I systems.
- Diagnose faults, propose corrective actions, and implement improvements to enhance system reliability.
- Ensure safety and compliance with electrical and instrumentation standards.
Documentation & Reporting
Prepare technical reports, test records, and as-built documentation.
- Maintain updated drawings, manuals, and project records for reference and compliance.
Requirements
- Diploma / Degree in Electrical, Instrumentation, Control Engineering, or equivalent.
- 3–6 years of experience in E&I engineering within construction, oil & gas, power, chemical, or process industries.
- Good knowledge of electrical systems (LV/MV), instrumentation, PLC/DCS, and field devices.
- Familiarity with international standards (IEC, IEEE, NEC, ISA, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving, coordination, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.
Preferred Attributes
- Experience in EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) projects.
- Knowledge of hazardous area classification and ATEX/Ex-proof equipment.
- Hands-on experience with AutoCAD/EPLAN, ETAP, or similar design tools.
- Strong safety mindset and compliance orientation.
