Key Account Manager, Colocation Data Center

We are looking for a Key Account Manager, Colocation Data Center in Eaton’s electrical business, based in Singapore.

This role leads the day-to-day interaction with named accounts for all aspects of Eaton and serves as the face of Eaton to the customer’s various titles and roles.

The primary responsibilities are to provide day-to-day account management and business development for Eaton’s colocation data center customers.

These are named accounts with a limited number of relationships, rather than a broad territory or segment.

Aim to maintain safety, health, wellness, and inclusion as core values across the organization.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the day-to-day interaction with named accounts for all aspects of Eaton.

    Be the face of Eaton to all levels within the customer.

  • Proactively manage current and future business with the named accounts.

  • Assume all account management and business development duties for each named account, including but not limited to:
    • Proactive meetings for current and future business
    • Address short- and long-term concerns and issues
    • Manage a pipeline and forecast for each named account and for Eaton’s APAC business
    • Take the commercial and relationship lead in responding to RFPs, RFIs, and RFTs
    • Participate in formal and informal meetings
    • Hunt for new business within named accounts
    • Assist all APAC countries in resolving issues, driving business, and engaging with local hyperscale customer teams
    • Act as the point of escalation for colocation customers when required
    • Work closely with Eaton global data center teams, especially the relevant Global Account Managers
    • Organize and participate in QBRs (Quarterly Business Reviews) with each hyperscale customer
    • Collaborate with applications engineering, bid management, and service teams to ensure a seamless customer experience
    • Commit to and support the Quality Management System (QMS):
    • Implement the process approach and risk-based thinking
    • Provide necessary support to fully implement and sustain the QMS
    • Communicate the importance of conforming to QMS requirements
    • Ensure the QMS meets its goals
    • Engage, direct, and support individuals contributing to the QMS
    • Create a culture of continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Tertiary Degree in a technical or business field, and/or 7 years of equivalent experience in an equivalent role.

  • Minimum 3 years managing regional or global accounts

Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of forecast and pipeline management
  • Experience in RFP/RFT processes and submittals
  • Excellent persuasion and negotiation skills
  • Ability to adapt to change and be flexible
  • Superb time management skills
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure during conflict and deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to engage at all levels
  • Leadership and executive presence when dealing with C-level executives
  • Highly organized with a demonstrable sales cadence process
  • Self-starter and self-motivated
