As we continue to expand, we are seeking The Cold Kitchen Assistant is responsible for supporting the preparation, assembly, and presentation of cold dishes, salads, sandwiches, canapés, and other menu items for catering services.
This role ensures that all food is prepared to high standards of quality, hygiene, and presentation, while assisting the culinary team in delivering excellent service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, portion, and assemble cold dishes including salads, dressings, sandwiches, platters, and finger foods according to menu specifications.
- Assist with food presentation and garnishing to ensure dishes are visually appealing.
- Maintain strict food hygiene and safety standards in line with company policies and legal requirements.
- Properly store, label, and rotate ingredients to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
- Keep workstations, utensils, and cold storage areas clean and organized at all times.
- Support chefs in preparing for events, functions, and daily catering operations.
- Assist in inventory checks and reporting shortages or damaged goods.
- Work efficiently under pressure to meet deadlines, especially during peak catering hours.
- Follow instructions from the Head Chef and collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment is an advantage but not always required.
- Basic knowledge of cold food preparation, storage, and presentation techniques.
- Strong attention to detail, cleanliness, and organizational skills.
- Good teamwork and communication skills.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and during events as required.
