The L2 Network Engineer plays a critical role in monitoring, maintaining, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure.
This role involves troubleshooting complex connectivity issues, managing network installations and upgrades, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and skilled in both hands‐on technical tasks and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities
Monitor and maintain network infrastructure (switches, access points, links) using network management tools; respond promptly to alerts and generate performance reports.
Provide Tier 2 technical support for LAN, WAN, and Wi‐Fi issues; perform fault isolation, root cause analysis, and upscale complex problems with detailed documentation.
Conduct device installation, firmware updates, cable patching, labeling, and routine maintenance following structured cabling standards.
Coordinate contractors and vendors during cabling and equipment installations, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and using specialized testing tools (OTDR, power meters, certifiers).
Maintain accurate documentation of incidents, network assets, and topology; ensure adherence to Workplace Safety and Health regulations.
Participate in standby rotations for after‐hours support; communicate incident updates and facilitate smooth escalation and service continuity.
