We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled
Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)
to manage, optimize, and ensure the availability of mission-critical Oracle database systems.
The ideal candidate will play a strategic role in both daily operations and long-term infrastructure planning, collaborating with cross-functional teams and providing Level 3 support.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and administer Oracle databases (12c, 19c, and newer) across production and development environments.
Perform advanced performance tuning, SQL query optimization, and index management to ensure optimal database efficiency.
Design and implement High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and backup solutions using RMAN and Data Guard.
Automate routine tasks using PL/SQL, Shell scripting, or Ansible to improve operational efficiency.
Apply critical patches, manage database upgrades/migrations (on-prem and cloud), and maintain version control.
Enforce database security policies, manage roles, and control user access based on organizational compliance.
Monitor overall database health and proactively address potential issues before they impact operations.
Provide L3 support for complex issues and lead detailed root cause analysis for major incidents.
Collaborate with application development, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to support seamless integration and delivery.
Participate in the on-call rotation and assist with weekend deployments or critical cutover activities as required.
Maintain thorough documentation of database architecture, configurations, procedures, and recovery protocols.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
Minimum of 6 years of hands-on Oracle DBA experience, with at least 3 years in a senior or L3 support role.
Strong expertise in Oracle technologies including ASM, RMAN, Data Guard, and GoldenGate.
In-depth knowledge of Oracle internals, performance diagnostics tools (AWR, ASH, TKPROF), and troubleshooting best practices.
Experience working with cloud platforms such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS RDS for Oracle, or Azure Database for Oracle.
Familiarity with ITIL frameworks and incident, problem, and change management processes.
Scripting proficiency in Shell, Python, or similar languages for task automation and monitoring.
Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments.
