Responsibilities
Setting up and operating laboratory equipment and instruments as outlined in current instructions
Performing tests according to Analysis Plan / adhoc request from plants in order to monitor the production process on samples record test results
Communicating results to the relevant Operations personnel
Preparing reagents and standards for analysis and synthesis of standards needed for analysis and calibration
Maintaining laboratory equipment to ensure proper working order and troubleshoot malfunctions when needed
Calibration, verification and preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment according to schedule
Purchasing and managing laboratory supplies such as chemicals, consumables etc
Involving in risk assessment activities and adhere to safe practices in the laboratory
Providing training and technical support to lab technicians
Assisting in method development and method validation activities
Covering duties in other laboratory stream as assigned
Writing and updating laboratory operations procedures
Ensuring laboratory equipment calibration and preventive maintenance performed in a timely manner
Upkeep records and maintain the Quality file
Organizing ad hoc analysis on request to third party laboratory
Assisting in handling the customer complaint samples and investigation
Managing retain samples from final products and raw materia l
Requirements
Minimum Diploma Chemistry / Degree in Chemistry or equivalent
At least 2-5 years of experience in an analytical laboratory environment in the chemical industry
Sound knowledge and hands on experience in handling typical laboratory instruments like Titrators and chromatographic instruments etc.
Lab equipment such as GC, HPLC, Automatic Titrators, AAS, UV Spectrometer, Glass Oven, Rotary evaporator, Density meter, X-ray, TOC-Analyzer, Molecular sieve, TGA Analyzer etc.
Lab environment handling hazardous and toxic material
