Job Summary
The Laboratory Specialist will oversee the entire lifecycle of cord tissue, including receipt, processing, testing, and storage.
Key Responsibilities
- Cord tissue receiving, processing, and storing with precision.
- Reading and understanding Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintaining accurate equipment temperature logs.
- Daily equipment usage logs.
- All cord tissue related testing.
- Quality control for BD FACS Canto, Trypan Blue, pH meter, in-house complete media.
- Documentation for receiving register, storage register, master record log, sterility register, etc.
- Maintaining quality to prevent contamination and integrity of the cord tissue unit throughout processing until storing in LN2 tank.
- Receiving reports from testing vendors, reviewing, and filing in client's unit chart file.
- Shifting final products from quarantine tanks to permanent tanks.
- Maintaining laboratory equipment performance by making quality criteria.
- Maintaining laboratory supplies inventory by holding back stock to set inventory levels; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
- Maintaining smooth laboratory workflow.
- Performing laboratory administrative duties as assigned.
Requirements
A Bachelor's degree or PhD in biomedical engineering, biomedical science, or biological sciences is required.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years of experience in laboratory testing work or cell culture work.
Proficiency in Excel sheet formulas is essential.
Strong team player, adaptable, and flexible to changes.
