Monitor daily laboratory activities, including scheduling, workflow management, and resource allocation.
Specific responsibilities:
- Prepare and conduct tests on Construction Materials such as Steel and Concrete in accordance with relevant international standards.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and regulatory compliance in all laboratory operations.
- Ensure accuracy and reliability of laboratory results.
- Ensure good housekeeping.
- Manage inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment, ensuring optimal functioning and availability.
- Provide mentoring and training to laboratory technicians.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by the reporting engineer or manager.
Requirements:
- At least NITEC or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of relevant experience in a laboratory setting.
- Good understanding of laboratory practices, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience with SAC-Singlas ISO 17025.
- Able to operate basic machinery.
- Willing to commit to OT, if required.
- Proficient in oral and written English.
- Familiarity with instrumentation, equipment and machinery used in the preparation of samples.
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques and methodologies.
- Able to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Willingness to learn.
- Ability to coordinate and work as a team towards common goals.
- Demonstrates judgment and adherence to SGS standards of ethics and integrity.
