Job Responsibilities
LCS System Management:
- Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of Line Control System (LCS) and SCADA platforms.
- Define system architectures, communication protocols, and interfaces to integrate production equipment, MES, APS, and AMHS systems.
- Oversee the installation, commissioning (FAT/SAT), and validation of automation systems in a start-up factory environment.
- Ensure high availability and reliability of LCS/SCADA systems supporting continuous manufacturing operations.
System Administration:
- Administer real-time and industrial operating systems supporting LCS/SCADA, including Windows Server (for SCADA HMIs/engineering workstations), Linux distributions (for middleware, integration servers), and embedded/real-time OS platforms (for controllers and field devices).
- Ensure system reliability, high availability, and disaster recovery readiness for critical factory automation applications.
- Plan and coordinate system maintenance, including configuration management, security patching, and controlled version upgrades to minimize production downtime.
Start-up & Greenfield Responsibilities
- Deploy containerized applications using Docker, ensuring compatibility with manufacturing systems.
Set up and manage Kubernetes or OpenShift clusters for high-availability and scalability of factory workloads.
- Participate in vendor selection, project scoping, and contract management for LCS/SCADA deployment.
- Develop system documentation, SOPs, and training programs for operators and engineers.
Establish preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for new factory systems.
- Collaborate with engineering, IT, and operations teams to define and standardize automation practices.
System Integration & Automation
- Program, configure, and optimize PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA software.
- Integrate third-party systems and equipment to ensure seamless production workflows.
- Develop dashboards, alarms, and analytics reports for monitoring system performance, downtime, and root cause analysis.
- Ensure interoperability between IT and OT environments while maintaining security and performance.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Implement and oversee cybersecurity measures to safeguard IT and OT systems against threats and vulnerabilities.
- Conduct regular security assessments, audits, and risk mitigation activities.
- Harden systems with SELinux, firewalls, access controls, network segmentation, and secure authentication mechanisms.
- Collaborate with IT Security teams to ensure compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, and IEC 62443 standards, particularly for OT and IIoT environments.
- Maintain compliance with international standards relevant to semiconductor manufacturing, including IEC, SEMI, UL, and CE.
Continuous Improvement & Support
- Troubleshoot LCS/SCADA and PLC-related issues to minimize downtime.
- Lead root cause analysis for recurring problems and implement corrective actions.
- Provide training, technical guidance, and support for factory operators and maintenance teams.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to enhance automation, efficiency, and safety.
Data Management & Backup
- Safeguard process and production data integrity, availability, and confidentiality through robust data management practices.
- Implement reliable backup and recovery systems for SCADA and LCS data, ensuring minimal downtime and business continuity.
- Establish disaster recovery solutions to protect against data loss, system failures, and cybersecurity incidents.
Technical Support:
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for LCS systems, ensuring swift resolution of issues to minimize production downtime and operational disruptions.
- Act as the escalation point for high-priority LCS incidents; perform root-cause analysis on recurring problems and implement corrective and preventive measures.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure that IT systems and practices adhere to pertinent industry standards, regulations, and data protection laws.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, including the creation and upkeep of operational manuals, and conduct regular audits to verify and maintain compliance.
Job Requirements
Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Automation, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience with SCADA, PLC, and automation systems, including development and integration.
- Hands-on experience with SCADA platforms, including configuration of data historians, reporting tools, HMI/visualization modules, and dashboard development.
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming, control systems design, and instrumentation.
- Proficiency in Python and SQL for scripting, queries, and logic building.
- Experience in system architecture design, maintenance, site testing, and commissioning.
- Familiarity with standard industrial communication protocols such as Modbus RTU/TCP, RS422/485, NMEA and CC-Link IE (CCIE).
- Strong collaboration skills; able to work independently and with cross-functional teams.
Specialized Knowledge & Skills:
- Proven experience (5+ years) with LCS/SCADA systems in semiconductor or high-tech manufacturing environments.
- Hands-on expertise with Rockwell Automation platforms.
- Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols (Ethernet/IP, OPC-UA, Modbus, SECS/GEM).
- Experience in commissioning greenfield automation projects, including vendor and project management.
- Familiarity with MES, APS, AMHS, and factory automation integration.
