Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for Requirements, Design, implementation, test, and integration of design in accordance with the higher-level Requirement and - Design specifications/architectures.
- Project coordination with customer engineering and supplier engineer during the design review and detailed design phases
- Rework coordination with the supplier on the existing design changes to meet the new design requirement
- Tolerance stack-up analysis and GD&T
- Drawing release (Drawings, OMS) for Proto order
- Proto build - form, fit, and function
- Test plan preparation
- Document & BOM release in EDOC / Enovia
- To perform hand calculations and FEA analysis for the structures, frames, modules, and components as needed.
- Initiate and validate detailed analysis reports including structural analysis, finite element analysis (FEA), thermal analysis, heat transfer, stress, vibrations, fluid and gas flow dynamics, and manufacturability to properly verify new and existing designs.
- Selection of standard OEM components such as bearings, O-rings, gearbox, motors, pneumatic & electrical actuators, gas springs, etc.
- Able to work independently to Design Mechanical design and power distribution systems for semiconductor metrology instruments
- Able to work independently to Integrate and test subsystems
- Able to work independently to Design tools/fixtures for manufacturing and field services
- Defines, executes, and takes the lead in concept and feasibility studies with a limited scope to investigate the usability of new technologies.
- Ensures the mutual consistency and efficient integration of the separate modules in modular, easy-to-maintain units that meet the product specification
- Determines the Unit interfaces (HW/SW) in close consultation with relevant disciplines.
- Ensure that there is proper documentation for his/her design.
- Contributes to the Work Breakdown Structure/ the planning process of his/her area.

Work Experience
- Min Bachelor's/Master degree in Mechanical engineering
- 5+ years of experience in Precision mechanism design
- In-depth understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals, encompassing design principles, materials selection, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), tolerance stack-up analysis and error budgeting.
- Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, including design principles, machine elements, materials, fabrication methods.
- Able to Conduct analysis and simulations, fixture design, including structural, vibration/modal Finite Element Analyses (FEAs)
- Propose and complete the design from conceptual design, detailed design to detailed drawings.
- Hands-on work in the cleanroom building/assembling mechanical assemblies.
- Familiar with mechanical manufacturing processes including machining, sheet metal fabrication, welding, etc
- Proficient in 3D solid modeling using CAD, preferably ProE/Creo
- Sound knowledge of Enovia or other PLM Tools
