Job description

Overview

Domain specific knowledge in electronics, mechanical, optics, firmware, system are required and combined towards our SICK purpose to deliver sensor intelligence into products & solutions.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead System Workpackage in technical aspects to fulfil project scope including timely product launch.

  • Perform Stakeholder requirement analysis and translate to System Requirements.

  • Break down the System Requirements to domain specific requirements.

  • Review and Optimize System test procedures across various products to ensure good quality, robustness and efficiency.

  • Review and Optimize System Specifications across various products.

  • Explore and Introduce new technology and methods into products.

  • Support to close Product Lifecycle topics including coordinating Failure Analysis within Product design.

Job Requirements

  • Diploma in Electronics & Computer Engineering or Embedded Systems or equivalent.

  • 10 years in a R&D development role and has been involved in at least five projects from Concept to Launch.

  • Good understanding of Sensor technology and operating principles.

  • Good understanding of Statistics.

  • Understand and interpret the Product Regulatory Standards to advice the Engineers.

  • Translate product requirements to System requirements.

  • Be responsible and take ownership on assigned tasks.

  • Managing conflicts arising from Multidisciplinary Collaboration.

  • Take decisions on Technical matters.

  • Growth mindset to acquire new technical competencies.

  • Provide Coaching and Mentoring on technical skills to younger engineers.

  • Propose to R&D management on training needs.

  • Take Initiative to translate existing problem space into solution space.

  • Implement and promote good practices.

  • Prepare and hold technical presentations / sharing / trainings across R&D team.

  • Perform Requirement Analysis and Requirement Engineering using JAMA.

  • Design the system architecture and break down into the functional domains.

  • Ensure design is adherent to robust verification & validation (V&V).

Data & Analysis

  • Apply & impart statistical methods to assess sensor accuracy, precision, and reliability.

  • Apply & impart Design FMEA and PFMEA using DFSS approach.

  • Apply Machine Learning (optional) for advanced sensor applications like pattern recognition or predictive maintenance.

System Integration & Validation

  • Multidisciplinary Collaboration with Mechanical, Electronics, Firmware, Optical and relevant teams to ensure cohesive system design.

  • Apply knowledge from Product standards and procedures such as thermal management, vibration, and EMI/EMC testing into the system architecture.

  • Create technical documentation, test reports, and system specifications.
