GENERAL DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on and skilled Lead Murex Developer to join our team.
As a Lead Murex Developer, you will be responsible for leading the design, development, testing, and implementation of our trading & risk management systems for our organization.
You will work closely with business stakeholders, technical teams, and vendors to ensure that our platforms meet the evolving needs of our Fixed Income, Currency, and Commodities (FICC) business.
KEY FEATURES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Technical Leadership
Provide strategic technical guidance and oversight for the development and maintenance of our Murex platform and related components, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry best practices.
Leverage expert-level knowledge of Murex, its ecosystem, and related technologies to inform architectural decisions, optimize system performance, and drive innovation.
Agile Program Planning and Execution
Actively participate in and contribute to the Program Increment (PI) planning process, collaborating with cross-functional teams to define and prioritize program backlog items, and ensure successful execution within an Agile framework (SAFe).
Work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and other stakeholders to refine and elaborate program requirements, and ensure that technical capabilities align with business needs.
Application Environment and Configuration Management
Oversee the configuration and management of core applications, including Murex and In-house built applications, to ensure seamless integration, optimal performance, and adherence to organizational standards.
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of application environments, configurations, and dependencies to facilitate knowledge sharing, troubleshooting, and audit compliance.
Design, develop, and maintain complex configurations and scripts for Fixed Income, Currencies, and Commodities platform offerings, utilizing deep knowledge of financial markets, instruments, and trading platforms.
Software Development and Improvement
Build, test, and deploy new tools, services, business logic, and product features, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of software solutions that meet business needs and exceed customer expectations.
Employ rigorous testing methodologies, including unit testing, integration testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT), to guarantee software quality, stability, and performance.
Schedule and troubleshoot end-of-day processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of batch jobs, data feeds, and other critical tasks that support business operations and regulatory compliance.
Develop and maintain scheduling scripts, cron jobs, and other automation tools to streamline processes, reduce manual intervention, and minimize errors.
Continuously drive and improve the system, identifying areas for optimization, proposing innovative solutions, and collaborating with stakeholders to prioritize and implement enhancements that add business value and improve customer experience.
Develop new functionalities, features, and services that expand the capabilities of the Murex platform, and ensure seamless integration with existing systems and processes.
On-Call Duty and Production Support
Ensure business-critical features are available, properly configured, and performing optimally in production environments, providing rapid response and resolution to incidents, and minimizing downtime and business impact.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across internally created and externally supported software applications, utilizing expertise in Unix (Linux), SQL, XML languages, and other relevant technologies.
Be available in the on-call rotations for production support, providing timely and effective response to incidents, and ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
Support production deployments when needed, collaborating with teams to ensure smooth execution, and providing technical expertise to resolve any issues that arise during deployment.
Regulatory Responsibilities &/OR Risk Management
Demonstration of appropriate values and behaviours including but not limited to standards on honesty and integrity, due care and diligence, fair dealing (treating customers fairly), management of conflicts of interest, competence and continuous development, adequate risk management, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
