Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD)

This
faculty position in the EPD Pillar
offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to and shape the
electrical and electronics design area , interacting with stakeholders across Singapore’s engineering and innovation ecosystem—including governmental bodies, industry partners, and funding agencies.
Role and Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
Teach
electrical and electronic engineering design
and product development courses at
undergraduate, graduate, and professional levels , covering topics such as:
Embedded systems
Power systems
Control systems
Prototyping and testing
Develop and deliver
student-centered courses
using
active- and blended-learning pedagogies , emphasizing electronic circuit design, product innovation, and systems-level electrical engineering.
Engage in
curricular development , integrating emerging trends in electrical engineering (e.g., renewable energy, microcontrollers/IoT, signal processing, AI-driven circuit/system optimization, sustainable energy systems).
Collaborate on
interdisciplinary projects and research initiatives , contributing electrical engineering expertise to address complex technological and societal challenges.
Mentor and supervise students at all levels (Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctoral) in design projects and research, fostering innovation, hands-on learning, and industry relevance.
Drive
outreach and partnerships
with industry, funding agencies, and academic institutions to expand SUTD’s electrical engineering initiatives, secure research funding, and develop continuous learning programs.
Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
(or closely related field) with a proven record of
teaching and/or research
in areas such as circuit design, electronics, embedded systems, power systems, or signal processing.
Strong interest in
teaching and advancing electrical/electronic product development , including hardware, systems integration, and emerging applications.
Ability to
engage effectively
with students, peers, and stakeholders both in-person and virtually.
Excellent
communication and presentation skills .
For Senior Lecturer appointments: prior teaching experience with preference for candidates familiar with
blended or active learning pedagogies
or engineering education research.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience teaching in
executive education or lifelong learning environments .
Ability to design and deliver
short, medium, and semester-long courses
across electrical and electronics topics.
Experience advising
Doctoral, Master, and undergraduate students
in electrical/electronic engineering.
Track record of publications in
leading journals and conferences
(e.g., IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems, IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, ISCAS, PEDS, ICECS, EPE, etc.).
