Lecturer (Economics/Statistics/Analytics/general management subject areas)
We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Lecturer in the School of Business to deliver engaging and effective teaching to our students in Pre‐Employment Training (PET) and Continuing Education Training (CET).
The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for economics, statistics, analytics, and general management subject areas, and a commitment to academic excellence and student success.
What You Will Be Working On
Integrate real‐world examples into lesson plans to enhance student understanding and critical thinking.
Develop teaching and assessment curriculum and course materials for PET and CET learners, to drive teaching excellence.
Conduct PET classes and CET training, in accordance with the teaching quality standards of the institution.
Collaborate with industry to provide industry linkages to the teaching curriculum.
Engage with industry projects and workgroups.
Lead and/or actively contribute to school activities, poly‐based committees and inter‐poly initiatives.
Mentor and coach students in curriculum activities, interest groups, and student organisations.
Organise and administer student‐related activities such as learning journeys and student trips.
What We Are Looking For
Tertiary qualification in Economics, Statistics or a closely related field, with 3‐5 years of relevant work experience.
Demonstrated experience teaching at the Polytechnic or Junior College level (preferred).
Digitally savvy and able to leverage digital tools for teaching; familiarity with modern teaching methodologies and educational technology.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills.
A strong passion for teaching and the ability to motivate and engage students.
Ability to collaborate with others to drive positive learning outcomes.
Growth mindset to stay abreast of industry developments.
Good administrative skills with the ability to multitask.
